Sheared apart 3rd gear on my Transmission I'm pretty sure. Can't complain tho, I've been on this same trans since 2013 making over 350wtq and driving the car liked I stole it at least 3 days a week during the spring/summer/fall months.
I am pulling the engine to have it refreshed and also transfering my Magnus rotating assembly to a new (newish?) 6 bolt 4g63t block. I recently purchased the new block from someone here on tuners. It's supposedly only 90k miles and never been machined. I need a new block because the mounting boss/threaded hole for the axle support bearing bracket is cracked and I had to weld a stud in that location. This occured after I left it at a shop to be tuned for e85. They called me and asked if they could seal up the oil pan a little better. They forgot to put the spacer back on (I have no AC bracket) and about a year later I started hearing clunking sometimes. The threads were stripped out and the boss was cracked. So I'm moving the Magnus rotating assembly into the new block with fresh machine work in prep for installation of my FP HTZ3586R I'm also debating on how to approach that. In a perfect world I'd have the money for a PPG dogbox, but I don't. My other option is to keep destroying strengthened stock DSM transaxles. But at $3,500 each for what I want 2 of those wrecked equals a dogbox.

I do business with a dsm client in the Netherlands and we speak frequently as he's making purchases from me regularly for his build. He has a connection out there that can supply Evo3 gear sets that are straight cut for a very reasonable price. I'm looking more into that and hopefully that is a vaiable option. I do need a donor evo3 input shaft to make that happen tho. But if it works out, I could have a full straight cut Evo3 gearset in my 2g case for about as much as a typical "built" transmission from one of the big 3 DSM transmission specialists. The guy who builds these has been running his for multiple seasons at over 1000whp and hasn't wrecked it yet.

Here are some pics of my car coming back apart. It's been a long time since I've worked on my car at home instead of my shop, and a long time since I've had it this far torn apart.

Here are some more pics. I made that battery positive post bracket on the CNC. LOL. And milled the cover out of a weird plastic that was laying around. It bolts using factory weld nuts. Was over engineered for what it does.

I wish I could post more pics, but tuners website always tells me files are too large

Looks great. That would be a great find if you could get the evo3 sets. That's like finding gold.
I know where to get them all-day long used. The price is not great. I also know where a couple new in box are but can't get ahold of him lately. If you check my other profile and look at the trans build there I got that guy a bnib Evo3 first gear, input shaft and 3rd gear. Could have gotten the full set but felt it's unnecessary. Those bnib items costed less than the whole gearset used from my other source. Wish I could get ahold of this guy again.

Decided to try to polish/buff my Magnus manifold to a mirror-like finish. I've I sanded and polished a coil plate once, that's about it. So we will see how it goes.

I am going to use an angle grinder and rolac abrasive disks to knock down the first layer.
Then I'm going to switch to my cordless dremel and use some abrasive polishing wheels I got off Amazon. They come in 120 grit, 180 grit, 320 grit, and 400 grit.

I'm going to keep stepping down (up in number) and finish with a 800 grit wet/dry sandpaper and lastly 1500 grit wet/dry sandpaper.
After that process is finished I'm going to wash it thoroughly with water and dish soap. Then buff with buffing pads/wheels swapped on the dremel and a larger buffer. First starting with brown polishing compound and then finishing with white.

Below: polishing/abrasive wheels.

One of the best tool purchases I've made. The cordless dremel.

Buffing pads/wheels that will be used with polishing compound.

Below: using highly abrasive disks at work on my angle grinder. I did this to knock down the big stuff quickly before using the supplies shown above.

Brought the manifold back home to use the dremel on.

Pics below are aftfter using the red 180grit wheel only. And this is where I'm at currently. I will continue to work my way through the abrasives, then buff. Really hoping to be able to see myself in this thing when it's all done. Post more pics with the results eventually.

I got a new in box EVO3 input shaft/1st gear on the way, that's the hardest part I think. I really should go dogbox because I don't want to needlessly destroy an Evo3 setup.
But then again, I wanna drive the car this summer too tho. I do virtually no drag launches in this car. It's street driven to work, out to play, to ty grocery store even. On the street it was just unnecessary to launch. I have a video on YouTube of myself rolling at 10mph then getting on it hard and hitting 115mph in 6 seconds. That was with 2 college backpacks fully loaded in the car and 2 adult males. (So an extra 200lbs I normally wouldn't have.) My shifts were hella lazy back then too LOL
