slow gas gauge

ok , so this has been on my nervs for a while... and YES i did search .... here goes....

when i put gas in my car the gas gauge is super slow to move back up to full, seriously it takes like 5 minutes ... how can i fix this ? ....anyone ?

hmm it dosn't really bother me

the only vehicle i owned with a fast gauge was my 98 gmc sonoma..

Is waiting five min. to a problem for you? Do you need to make sure you have a full tank of gas before you leave the gas station?

well 5 minutes still seems a little long id have to check and see how long mine takes..

btw just fill your car up it can't be that difficult to know you have a full tank...

Mine takes about 2mins to go all the way up to full.

Seems normal, I only noticed it one night when pulling away from the pumps and seeing the tank "wasn't" full. The needle's worked by a bimetallic strip, heated by the current allowed back from the float position- I don't think it'd be possible to speed up its response unless you went to a different gauge. At least it doesn't bounce with the level fluctuations during driving like a pure float does.....

both of my dsm's have done this too..im just waiting for someone to come along with why this does it..
