Simple question will a 2g manifold work on a 1g car?

On my 92 eagle talon tsi stock 6 bolt 4g63 motor, stock turbo, downpipe. My exhaust manifold is cracked very badly. A guy told me the 95-99 manifold will work and in fact has a lot more nickel in it. And it will be a lot stronger and more durable. Is this true and if so does any one have a used one for sale or know where I can get one fairly cheap.
