OK, I go though plug wires like every 3 months with the longest lasting 6months from NAPA wires. Now I just ordered my second set of MSD 8.5's because supposedly there the best, and I now have a miss condition (after replacing the wires 1month ago)under boost since my seal on the oil fill cap gave out and leaked oil all down into the plug valley, somehow causing one of the wires to cause a mis-fire. Now I've tried Magnacor (junk), ACCEL, Pepboys and NGK, and Napa wires with the junk factory wires lasting the longest.

could I have a bad coil or just bad luck?

I think you are having bad luck. I've had the same Magnecore's as like the first mod I did to my car and they have held up fine for 40,000+ miles.

I have the NGK's and those are holding up very well.

Are you 100% posotive they are in the right spots. Did you put some of that electrode gook on the new wire ends?

If you know anyone with a talon/eclipse like yours, swap wires and see if it acually is the wires. If the MSD's are pooched already, im sure they would have some kind of warranty on them.

No, its called di-electric grease helps dissipate moister and help with contact between wire and plug for better current flow. I did order another set of wires and will see if I can fix the boot of the one that is shorting out. It always the longest one on the pass. side. I guess being the longest makes the most resistance and the first one to go.

Are you gonna make me squeal like a pig? I'm not traveling all the way to CA for nothing. :p

Anyway back to the topic, I replaced the plug wires agian today with a new set of MSD's, no more mising and after looking at the slightly used wires I could'nt see where they were arcing so I'll clean them up and figure out which one is bad later.
