i recently swapped to bg synchroshuft 2. and the car shifts fine except when racing and reving high. the head mechanic at my shop told me to take out the synthetic fluid immediately because its too slippery allowing the synchros to keep spinning when racing and shifting at 7400 rpm, making it almost impossible to shift quick (keep in mind he has a turbocharged firehawk that he has built himslef that i saw run consistent 11.6 @ 128 mph passes the other night, and the car still has some issues, aka he knows his shit
) which i am having extreme problems with shifting at high rpm, it will take a little longer to get it in gear than it should and sometimes grinds. allowing me to loose precious tenths off of my 1/4 miles times. so what fluid do you guys reccomend that isnt synthetic?
also he said look into a friction modifier which will help stop your synchros from spinning between shifts making it easy as pie to shift. anyone have any experience with the friction modifiers? and who mkaes a good one for our trannies? thanks
also is it true that pennzoil synchrmesh has frictiion modifiers in it? im thinking of switching to pennzoil synchromesh for the tranny and x-fer case
