2G Shifter Cables

I recently wrecked my 99gs and I bought my 98 gst wrecked as well....I was driving it around when I lost 1st and 3rd gear....I then lost 2nd n 4th....when I got back home I popped the hood and noticed the shifter cables were blown...I took apart the whole engine of both to try and swap and here the cables from teh gs were 2 inch to short...is this norm or did I not align them correctly?

they are going to be different because they are from a different trim model car. get some regular gst/gsx ones and you won't have any more problems.
