Shift points while racing?

Where do u guys shift/launch while racing your AWD dsm
Any info is appreciated, I'm just trying to get feel of how other people race, and what works better.

in an AWD,i'd say 4.5-5.5k depends on what you're racing.

Uhh, you want to shift little higher then 5.5K rpms, unless of course you're runing T25. If you dynoed your car you want to shift after peak power. I usually shift right before 7k since I have stock cams.

when launching in my gsx i usually revved it up to about 4.5k and let the clutch out a little slow until the car started to move and then i let it out real quick. You could drop the clutch if you really wanted too but that's harder on the drivetrain. Then i just shifted at about redline each time. I only got to race my car twice. I ran a 15.2 and it was bone stock w/ 120k miles on that biatch. I just bought the thing too, and at the time it needed a new CV joint and tie rod end. Oops!

Yea i usually shift around 6.5 k because thats when I feel the power start to go.

5500 for me. Any more and the exhuast pops and the bov makes alot of noise.
