Anyone have any experiance with this kit? I tried searcing but didnt find any info. I was originally going to go with the Hahn Racecraft kit but saw this kit which is cheaper and comes with short route piping.

I have also been looking at this kit.

Is it bar and plate or tube and fin core? Whats up with the elbows on the inlet and outlet, they look out of place compared to other kits? Any major fitiment differences compared to other kits?

Thanks,
Ben

Ben,

Our kits use a high-flow Garrett bar and plate core rated to 700hp. The endtanks are designed for the shortest piping route possible, and for easy of installation. Here are some pics of this kit installed on one of our shop cars.

I bought the core and had piping made for me... This is the baddest core out there, IMO.. 24x12x3.5. I am running a 16G @ 22psi and am moving to an FP3052 @ 22psi but it will not matter from a cooling standpoint with this core.. :thumb:

This core is sooo effin huge..you guys are running this on your 16gs! damn that is really overkill..All i know is this thing is probably the biggest kit I have seen. My friend here just got the kit and it was pain to install. It fills the whole 2g bumper opening and then some. the bumper still like covers up 4 inches or soo. My friend is runnin a special slowboy 60-1 or something and that fmic is perfect for it. Kinda overkill on a 16g if you ask me.

Also I have heard of people havin cooling issues with this fmic because it is so big it covers the whole radiator. But I dont know if thats everyone just from what I hear from some ppl and others on here are running them fine.

I bought it with a bigger turbo in mind in the future... ;)

That's what I don't need. Summertime ain't no joke down here. I plan to upgrade my cooling system one day anyway with FAL fans and a Fluidyne radiator - but I don't want it to be a necessity to go along with the intercooler. The Hahn or the big GReddy are my other leading choices.

I actually ran the same core on my 1g with a 14b until I went to the 60-1.

This is the same core that made 403whp on our 16g car and 513whp on my personal car.

Oh im sure the FMIC wouldnt be bad mated to a 16g just sayin that big of a core isnt necessary for a small turbo like that. This is off topic but do you know a guy named yomani from here in Grand Rapids,MI he won bracket racing at the shootout and he claims he has a sponsorship with you guys..Hes the guy i was talkin about with the 60-1 above. He says its a slowboy prototype 60-1 any info on that?

Same here, I knew i was going to go with something bigger. I've never had any overheating problems with it either.

Sorry I am not Nate, however yes we had custom 2.5" to 3.15" silicone made for our upper IC pipe to accomodate GM blow through system... this is also how Nate run's his set up.

I have the kit on my 1g, it was not a pain to install and I have had no cooling problems. The installation was a little time consuming but not difficult. It definitely does the job

Does anything have to be relocated to make room for the short route piping? This is a complete kit correct? All piping is included?

We had to move the power steering cooler and the oveflow bottle. It was complete except for the gasket that goes between the throttle body and the throttle body elbow. The car has no a/c or abs so I couldn't say wether or not it will work with them. I'm sure somebody at slowboy would know.

Any of you tried this intercoller with a Road Race session of intense 20-30 min. of hot lapping? I think not...
Without a upgrade radiator and fans it does'nt let enough air for this kind of racing.

I have this front mount...simply gorgious.Problems were finding a spot for the coolant container and, well thats about it,I cant say anything bad about slowboys kit.... :thumb:
Heres some shots...
