I worked (sold) hyundai's for 5 years. I quit last january and moved on becasue they are getting rediculas about their $$. I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that you will not see one of these for under $25,000 as a base-base, cheap model.. Now that they are not the "best warrenty in the biz" they may have to get off there high horse and come back down into reality and sell there product at a more resonable price.

Im sorry I just dont believe that. They need the car to be under 25k for it to sell well.

cant wait to see them out on the streets

I saw the car yesterday at the LA Auto show.. it looks pretty badass. I thought it was one of the better looking new releases there. I never thought i'd say that about a Hyundai. It usually looks kinda small in pics, but in person it looked around the size of a G35.

I disagree. I think Hondas, Mazda and Toyotas are over priced. I researched new cars for almost a year for buying one full year before buying a new car. In fact twice I came nearly close, but walked out right before signing the paper (if the salesman didn't chase me, then he didn't want to sell the car). One of the first cars I looked at was a Honda Fit. With medicore options the car was selling for $17,000-ish before taxes and title. I also looked at the Mazda 6

So to sum it up I got the performance power of a Camry, the suspension of the 6, with a better saftey rating of all three for about $200 more then a Fit. The warranty tops all 3 of those.

The Sonata, I love it.

When the Genesis comes out, I will be looking into the possibility of trading in the Sonata for getting the 4-door Sedan Version (supposedly has V8 as well).

^Yes indeed. More and more Americans are buying Japanese cars and Japan knows that their product is better (for now), so they bump their prices up.

Never thought I'd be interested in what Hyundai is doing. I actually liked the last Tiburon and this new V8 version could really shake up the musclecar scene - with something that could actually handle well out of the box. Imagine that. While Ford, Chevy, and Dodge are all stuck on retro designs someone is finally coming up with a decent looking V8 coupe. I can't wait to see how this car looks.

From what I understood they are comming out with a 4cyl turbo model with over 200hp and they are using a hopped up 3.8L V6 with 305+hp (est.) in the GT model. NewTiburon.com

Amen, Chris. I like the retro idea, to a point. I'm sick to death of every Ford wonk explaining to the clueless reporter at the auto show that the Mustang is the hingepin of Ford's product offering. Well, here's an idea, for free: stop building shit. GM is even having fun telling all the current Malibu owners what a bucket of crap they bought from them. "Our last batch of cars were pretty as kitty vomit, so here, try this one if you're stupid enough!"
I've had enough of "styling reminiscent of". I want "unlike anything we've seen before".

You know. Like the 2G was when it came out.

The majority of car companies are afraid to take a risk. Little do they know, thats whats holding them back the most.

However, hyundai doesnt have much to lose. They can only go up with this car.

ooohhHHH, myyyy. that orange/black model looks awesome!

i think i know what my next ride will be...i want a stripped down base model turbo 2.0L please. wonder what upgrades can be done right off the bat. gotta' keep that 10/100,000 warr tho...

RWD I4turbo FTW!!!

pray pray pray

only way i'd get back into a tiburon again! haha

used to have an '03 gt v6 before i traded it in for my GSX...opps

Does it say anything about the coupe? It wouldnt make sense for the 4 door to have a I4...2dr I4 would be nice.

I guess I was thinking of the "Genesis" as a platform, not as the name of the car. This must be the "Genesis" sedan on the Genesis platform. I didn't see a mention of the coupe in this report, but hopefully that is still coming (based on the Genesis platform) and maybe that is where the turbo 4 is still a possibility.

Eh, I hate most new cars because there are honestly way to many electronic's in them. I like having a car that is aimed at the driving experience. Not dvd players, Nav systems and loud speakers.

The idea of a turbo four cyl that was rwd and had a manual trans was apealing but if it is not going to be light and has a lot of IMO "crap" in it that imo it does not need then I am as of now turned off by it.

I have to say, that a Nav system really is nice :) Once you use one, you wonder how you got along without it. A nice stereo system is something I can't do without too. Notice I didn't say "loud". I don't need 12" woofers taking up my trunk space, but when you spend a lot of time in your car, listening to your music on a nice clear sound system really makes the time in the car more enjoyable. It all depends on what you use your car for.

That grill is absolutely horrific. Ruins the entire car.

When they made the tuscon which went from the 4G63 to a v6 with a 6 speed attached.
