No changes to tune, no boost leaks, just started randomly yesterday. Does it hot or cold. Running SD.
I can crank my injector deadtime up to get it running temporarily, but it still dies.

What could cause this? Bad injector? Bad wideband? I'm stumped!

(i said injector duty in the video, i meant deadtime)

Ok here's the first log, I can barely get it started and it leans out and dies. This is the tune that had been running great for a year with no changes.

Here's the second one. I cranked the injector deadtime up to 855 and was able to get it started and running. This is how I got the car home when it first happened, but it obviously wasn't running great (at it least it got me home). During this log I messed with the injector settings, and by the end I had them down to 355 again, and it was running so lean I shut it off.

If it was a bad wideband or o2 wouldn't the problem only occur when the ecu is in closed loop?

Have u checked fuel pressure? Make sure u have a good batch of gas (91?). On link, turn the fuel pump on and leave it running for a few minutes see if pressure drops or any strange noises happen.

Btw I'm still waiting for some updates *cough* velocity labs. Awesome channel man. Wish u were closer so we can figure this out.

You verified your map sensor is reading correctly? Running sd wouldnt a faulty map sensor or leak at the map cause a rich or lean condition potentially? Did u say your using the wideband for the narrow band signal? Is the wideband or narrowband cycling correctly? Why do i feel like this is a map issue? Either the vacuum source to it or maybe the connection?

This seems like it could be likely. How do I verfiy it's working correctly?

I would check fuel pressure?
Fuel pressure is good. I changed my filter just in case, but it was sparkling clean, so no issues there. I disconnected my battery when I did it, and after reconnecting the battery it started running normally again (temporarily). It still leans out and dies randomly, so I haven't figured it out yet.

I'll take a log next time I'm driving and hopefully it will die. I'll post the log when it does.

Do your boost/vacuum gauge and your MAP readings match up?? That's kinda a cheap way to see if/what the MAP sensor is reading.
Also, no preturbo leaks that might show the WB a big gulp of air, ie...turbo to manifold bolts good and tight and manifold is not leaking. I couldn't view your video, the work internet police won't let me view it.

Marty you've got to turn off the child safety on the internet to be able to watch car porn.

Lock in open loop via ecmlink and that would eliminate a bad o2/map as it won't "check" anything it will just "assume" everything is good to go and see what happens.

Have you considered a failing fuel pump?

You have a boost gauge? Verify that the map sensor data is in line with your boost gauge. I had a similar issue when setting up a customers car. The vacuum source to the map sensor was leaking causing stumbling issues. Start the car, make sure your data logging your map value, compare to your boost gauge. If they fall in line, your are ok. Also make sure the connect at the map sensor isnt frayed or in bad shape. I had to repin my customers cable as it was chewed up. This doesnt feel like a fuel pump issue to me. Id take a look at your voltage when the car is idling to verify its reading over 13v at idle. Report back your findings

Narrow or wide band wont force shut it.
Even when they are bad. Stimulated or not.

Now SD map sensor will most definitely.
Even pulling couplers off wont shut it off.
So it has to be directly related to the map sensor in some form.

Could be a number of things
Like. Fuel or spark.

Remember coils can be bad with duty and temp.
Just like pumps and injectors..

Start by measuring resistance on the fuel system..

Keep us informed.

Did you ever figure out this problem I'm having the exact same problem as u are I'm sure it's something to do with my fuel or my map but whould be nice to know what was on ur car ur problem give me something to start with thx ;)

My issue was wiring related. I had a bad 2G MAF connector. I replaced and all my problems were fixed.
thes good to hear i will make sure to check my map connection to me i had a feeling was something map related or fuel pump or something like that thx a lot for the responce btw love you dsm videos keep it up i have some what a sep up like your but my hollset is an hx35/40 bit 60mm billet wheel love your car nice job :)
