in a turboed eclipse is it better to run rich or lean? how to tell if the air fuel ratio is good? and how do you ajust it to make it run different? getting ready to buy a new gsx and the guy tells me it runs rich.

In stock configurations you want the car to burn optimal, It is safer for our engines to burn rich but very inefficient, unnecessary, and can damage the catalytic converter. From my experience it's usually the front o2 sensor that becomes the first culprit. I'm assuming there is a CEL. In turbocharged cars there can be many other things that can also cause issues like this. I tell this to everyone who don't even know how to change an oil filter that want a turbo car. Don't do it, in the end you will end up selling the non-running car in frustration and loose a ton of money from taking it to a shop because you don't know how to fix it yourself. I personally don't trust mechanics with my car because some of the certified ones I'v talked to don't even know what a boost leak tester is, but that is just my 2 cents.
