[RESOLVED] Pulling Engine Head need definitive answer on socket size

Ok I am pulling the head on a 95 eagle talon this weekend and need to know the correct sockets to buy if I don't have them. I have read through various threads and I have come on 12mm and 14mm 12pt sockets and also one concerning an allen wrench cap that is supposedly over the head bolt themselves. So can someone give me the definitive answer on the socket sizes and allen wrench size (if needed) to undo the head bolts?

I keep lots of 10s,12s,14s,17s and a few 19s. The allen head one is a 10, get a good one because those head bolts are tough sometimes. edit: the 10 allen is for a 1g, not sure for the 2g...sorry

well i need the same thing because i am pulling the head on my 1g to i have tried a 12 and a 14 but

i dont think its a 13 maybe try a 1/2

see that is the thing that is getting me . I don't know if it is just me not looking in the right place, but I see 10 bolts and when I feel the top of them there doesn't seem to be a place for a hex allen socket to fit into Let me go check again

Again I'm not sure on the 2g head but the 1g head bolts the hex goes into the bolt, the center that is.

I just pulled the head off of a '97-'99 motor and you need a 12 point 12mm socket. That shouls be the same on a '95. The 14 mm 12 point is what my ARP head studs use.

1G is a 10mm six sided allen key. Had to buy that tool too many times .

okay thanks well funny how the 12pt set I bought has 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, and 19mm. WTF happened to the 12mm? Just my luck Guess I will be buying one seperate thanks for the info.

+1. 12 point socket for all 7 bolt motors, including 92 7 bolt motors and up.
