1)I just bought a 1990 Eagle Talon AWD 5spd. First and second gear are fine through out the RPM range, but 3rd - 5th whenever I reach full boost(stock) I feel a shutter from the rear and it acts like it does not want to accelerate anymore untill I left off the gas for a bit. Could this be the rear differential going out? Maybe low on fluid? The car has 130k miles on it. Anybody have any ideas?

2) Usually when I run the car hard in second and go to shift into third it grinds a bit, even if the clutch is in all the way. I have to wait a few seconds for the RPMs to drop before I can put it into 3rd. What causes this?

Thanks in advance!

Alright, I drove it again today and I really do not think it is the rear diff. First gear is fine and so is second. The shutter/vibration doesnt start untill a hard 3rd gear pull. Could it be the wheel bearing? On the rear passenger wheel it is making an annoying metal on metal noise. But I just figured the pads were low. Im going to check when I get off work to see what kind of condition the pads and rotors are in. What are some symptons of a bad wheel bearing?

It is still doing it and I havent gotten a chance to find out what it is. I changed the rear rotors and pads last week because they were worn and I shook the wheel while it wa sup on the jack and it did not wiggle/move at all. So it cant be a bad wheel bearing? It almost feels like the driveshaft is just spinning or slipping. Its not a grinding sound at all. Any thoughts?

Alright just took it for a short cruise. Its even worse now! It really feels like the drive shaft is slipping or something. Now in any gear, even when not boosting, it does it. It feels like something could have got loosened or I dont know. This is the first AWD car I have owned. I need some input hah.

I feel like I am talking to myself! :|
