Quick BOV Question

My 1g BOV bit the dust, so i'm looking for an aftermarket. But will i need an AFC or something so she runs right. I've run venting to the atmosphere before and it doesnt like it at all. I was looking at maybe the greddy, turboxs, or blitz.

No, you dont need an AFC to run an aftermarket BOV.

With or without an AFC it will run sloppy venting to atmosphere. Get a BOV that recirculates to the intake or get one with an available recirc kit.

I use a 1g so I know little about aftermarket BOVs but I have noticed that a lot of tuners use HKS SSQV with a recirc kit, the GReddy type S does recirculate to intake without a kit.

a greddy type s seems to be the standard aftermarket recirculating bov that people around here use. You will need either a new UIP or a flange to use a bov different than the 1g though. Personally I'd just get another 1g bov, you can't beat the price. Oh, I'd recirculate your bov... you wont' foul your spark plugs out as fast, you'll get better fuel milage, and your car will overall run better.

Tial for people venting. 1G for those doing things the right way. These 2 valves perform extremely well, and offer exceptional drivability charactoristics.

a type s should bolt right on to your UICP, they have the same flange

the TXS H-34R gets my vote every time... it is the same basic valve as the RFL, but it has a hose fitting instead of a horn, so it can be routed back to the intake... and it is an all metal piston type valve, instead of a poppet type, so it can hold more boost, and it's actuation is crisp and it closes faster (from my experiance/reasearch)
