What's the capacity of the center diffy/axles/5 speed of a GSX? If I were to put an EVO 3 16G and push it anywhere near it's capacity of about 380 crank hp, is that any way in danger of snapping axles, spider gears or gears in the tranny? I don't want to do high RPM launches and stuff most people abuse their AWDs for, I just don't really care for street racing from light to light. I just don't want to be pushing along at 70mph on the interstate and feel the need to PUNCH it to pass a car or something and give everyone a show of sparks and metal flyin outta the underside of my car.

for highway driving you most likely won't have any problems if you use an aftermarket clutch. when you start doing repetitive drag strip launches is when things start breaking. The center diff would probably go first in that event.

Oh ok...it has an ACT2600, and my left leg can prove it ;) I could probably push my leg through a brick wall now. Anyways, I was figuring with only the 350 or so to the ground that the stock drivetrain parts would handle it no problem, assuming I wasn't doing 5k clutch dumps all day long. I don't like that. I just want to be cruising down the highway and nail it and take off. With the parts already spinning, just all of a sudden spinning a lot faster, I assume puts FAR less stress than if they're stationary and all of a sudden having to spin really fast or something. It does grind a little when going from 2nd to 3rd, maybe I should shift slower until I can get some shifter bushings and new tranny juice in.
