I have a 1996 Eagle Talon Esi non turbo. I currently have a AEM V2 intake, Megan Racing Headers, and a throttle body spacer. I sent in my throttle body and intake manifold to CI Motorsports to get bored out and when i put on the throttle body and started it. It was ideling at 2400 RPM. I adjusted the idler screw and it did not affect it and i messed with the throttle cable and it only went higher but not lower then 2400 RPM. Its not surging it just idles at 2400 RPM. Any ideas?:banghead:

First thing I would do is call the company that did the machine work for you. Tell them what it's doing and maybe they'll have an easy solution for you.

have you looked at the (iac) idle air control valve when i put the new one in my car it idle at 2500 for a couple minutes then idled back down have u tried giving it a little gas or seeing if it would idle down at all

eww throttle body spacer.. why?!?!?!?!

Anyways, I had a simular problem when i cleaned my tb and IM, ended up beeing something simple and dumb, i had forgot to reconect my tps. If everything is properly hooked up, i'd get the ohms meter out and check ## tps and IAC, one might of got damaged in the shipping process, or perhaps your IAC is dirty, could try cleaning it.

this isnt really solving your problem but i was just curious how much you paid for your tb and im to be done

I got it going by disconnecting the ecu, battery, and cleaning the sensors thanks guys.n ha n actually the throttle body spacer actually helped quite a bit. i dont know how but now i can beat my buddys 2000 eclipse gt to 3rd gear LOL and the throttle body cost 70 dollars to bore and 30 for the intake manifold.

I didnt really care to much for the job CI did on my IM, personally, just didnt seem very smooth and circular, kind of wavey, although it did give enough space to match the TB. As for my TB, i got mine from a guy off of ebay, he did an amazing job and does core charges to eliminate down time, came with new senors, and gasket on top of that.

As for the TB spacer, i wont beleive it till i see a legitimate dyno with and without it. Beating a 2000 eclipse isnt the same thing as beating a 1999, completely different engine and everything, (i personally think of the 3rd gens as better looking glorified grand am's)

eww throttle body spacer.. why?!?!?!?!
this.

The only purpose behind throttle body spacers is to seperate fools from their money. They usually are responsible for nasty vacuum leaks. Remove it and put a proper gasket in place. Your idle should be fine.

Please help!!! I have a 96 talon tsi. It makes a jerking motion at 2500 rpm and around 5000 rpm. Its so bad I cant use the cruse control on the highway. If I floor it, it acclerates great and doesnt cut out. There are only two ways I can drive the car, "like a granny" or "like a mad man" The weird thing is I changed my spark plug wires and spark plugs and it ran great for two days then started doing it again. I just put new gaskets on my throttle body thinking it was a vacum leak and still no difference. I also changed my fuel filter 100 miles ago. Could it be a boost leak? Or mabey a sensor going bad?

and i do all of this about how much more horsepower will it give me

This all depends on your mods and everything else... and actual numbers most of us dont know because we don't dyno our cars after tiny changes like this, i can tell you that you should notice much better throttle response, but everyones actual "feels" on hp gains are different.

1) why post that in the 420a section when you have a 4g63?
2) why post that in a thread about something completely different?
