I just recieved my kit today. Everything looked ok, and I was happy. I then went to install it. One of the bolts for the O2 housing wont fit because there isnt enough clearence to get the bolt in the O2 housing. Not a huge problem, and just choped the bolt, and put on a nut. It works, but still doesnt fit all that great.

The biggest problem is is the turbo. When you bolt up the turbo the return line face's up instead of down:confused: How the #### did this happen?? Ryan please get back to me asap with an asnwer. I have never seen this before. I guess a jackass at turbonetics mounted the inlet side wrong:rolleyes:

I need my car on the road. Please help me:cry:

You could rotate the housing if you feel like battling a nasty c-clip. ;)

You should be able to rotate the housings as long as they do not have a dowel pin to keep them aligned. What do you mean you had to chop the bolt and put on a nut? I didn't have a single install issue with my kit, so I don't know what you mean by that.

Since when did you get an RnR kit? I thought you had AGP? As for the return line problem, the Garrett should allow both housings to rotate, allowing you to put the housings/center section in any direction you like.

Trust me folks i have way bigger issues than yall do with my kit, im not posting anything negitive or positive about the kit until ryan replies to me about it. And i have MANY MANY MANY pictures:cry:

60-1 .63 stage V a/r housing
tial 35mm
3" SS o2 housing

oh yeah yall just wait and see O_OOMG

If your turbo is a Garrett type turbo configuration, loosen the 6 13mm bolts on the compressor side, and the 6 13mm bolts on the turbine side to rotate the end housings independently. Once you get the proper rotation, tighten them back up.

Whatever you do, don't loosen the 4 10mm or 3/8" bolts that hold the backplate to the center housing.

Dont take this the wrong way but I seriously think you need to find someone to help you install your kit. And Im not mocking you at all because I did not know the housings rotated at first either but the center section and both housing all rotate by loosening up the bolts on the clamps.

Regarding the bolt on the o2 housing, which one was it? On AGPs kit where the o2 and downpipe come together you have to feed the bolts up from the bottom as you cant get the bolt through but thats not a big deal. Just curious if this was the same thing.

Well after I posted this. I took a look at the turbo, and decided to spin them like ever said. I was just scared to open up a new turbo. But yah I have the kit installed now so I dont think I need anyones help. The bolt I was refering to was one of the 5 on the O2 housing. It would be on the bottom in the middle. Right where the pipe bend over it. There is no room at all for me to fit a bolt in there, because the pipe is in the way. I tryed a stud, and nut but it still doesnt fit right. So i let it with nothing, and i hope it doesnt leak.

I also was given the wrong bolts for the return line. I tryed putting them in and they were a bit snug. I thought there just might be a bit of crap in the threads. But no it was a imperial thread, and a metric hole:rolleyes: So it striped the thread in the turbo a little. So I had to re tap it, and the thread are perfect thank god.

I also am not able to use any of the stock fans. I tryed to hack some of the plastice to clear my intercooler pipe that goes to the turbo. BUt it ends up hitting the fan blade. so I ahve to get a slim fan.

My last problem is with the oil filter. The falnge for my down pipe, on the O2 housing is touchin it. I might have to buy a relocation kit for it. But i thought these kits didnt need anything but a flim fan to
fit:confused: My car is a 91, and the oil cooler is liqued cooler, right behind the oil filter. Like a 2 into one peice, so maybe thats why im having this problem. Everything thing else bolted right in, and im pretty happy with the kit. Should be running today:thumb:

Ya, you just need to rotate the housing. Also on the 02 housing we use the 5 bolt housing so there is a bottom bolt that is hard to get to. If you are keeping your AC then you can get a slim fan for like $60 from RRE. Wes or anyone else contact me if you have any problems or questions about the install. I will help you through any problems you have. [email protected]

Just some input on fans. I Had to take the passngerside fan in move it to the drievrs side location. Right now the plastic one in sitting in my garage. I am planning on getting the new kit from Flex-a-Lite that is a plug and play unit with two fans for our cars. It is only 2.5 inches think as the stock platic on is like 4.25.

Nopi has them and a few other places for arounf 350-375 range.

Oh and BTW they have them in yellow... ;) :D

I know Pete W has a set he used for a month or two he is trying to sell. If you want. The dual 2g flexalites. I would contact him before ordering one to see what he wants for it.

Well the car should be ready to run tomorrow. My last problem is with the oil fitler, and the o2 housing being so close. I hope I can some how figure out a way to make if fit without a reloaction kit. I also had to use a slim fan for me passenger side. Ill let you guys know how it works out for me. So far Im pretty happy with the way it is going. Im also having a small problem with the rubber oil return line kinking up on me. But Its a small things. Ill post pics soon.

Ryan where do you suggest the oil feed line to be placed. Its fairly long so I was thinking maybe around the oil sending unit for the oil gauge. I thought I remeber someone saying that the stock location isnt that great. thanks

I have had a slim fan that I bought from Autozone for over a year now, and I definitely didn't pay $350-$375 for it either! $350 for a couple of fans??? I paid $60 for one, so that would be $120 for two, and the one I have works great. You may have to do some custom mounting, maybe fab up a couple of brackets, but you will save a lot of $$$.

I ended up mounting it to the stock fan housing by taking the oem motor and blade out. I then cut out the support for the oem motor and blade and mounted the slim fan inside of the stock housing. All in all it takes up a lot less room and looks stock unless you get right up to it

Don't get ripped off for a couple of fans!

So it obviously doesn't end at the stock location. How on earth is that going to make down pipe fit? Does it just drag along the ground?

Ok well here is the list of problems I have run into so far

Both side of the turbo had to be spun 180 degrees, because they were upside down.

The wrong pitch thread on the oil return flange. Striped the holes in the turbo on the one side. Had to retap it

Oil return line was to short, and kinked when I hooked it up because the bend was to great.

O2 housing hits the down pipe.

So i had to buy an extra

Slim fan
oil filter relocation kit
oil return line hose
some new bolts for the return line flange

Other then that its all good

Ok this is getting rediculous. I started the car today, and found one more problem. The flange on the maniflod that bolts to the head is not flat. It must have warped after being welded. So now I have to get the flange machined flat.

Ryan when I bought this kit. You said you wouldnt sell soemthing that did not work. YOu also said that it fits perfect, and i would just need a after market fan. So far both these claims are false:mad:

Edit: Fixed the quote

Ryan when I bought this kit. You said you wouldnt sell soemthing that works.

According to this quote, so far, he has kept his word. He wouldn't sell something that works, but he WILL sell something that doesn't work!!!! LOL And you were gullible enough to buy it!!! Good thing you didn't spend that extra $50 and buy a kit that has been proven to fit on other cars, or buy a nice simple bolt on turbo.

But oh well. Same thing happened when the Mutts came out. Hopefully the rest of the lemmings won't jump off the cliff even after they see the first one go.

Sounds like a recent turbo experience I had with another vendor.....good price/product, but interesting "little quirks" that should have been taken care of at the shop.

Are you a morron TRBOTSI

Im not bashing RnR at all. Im informing ppl of the problems that Iam having with there turbo kit. If this is not allowed then god help this forum. I think I should be able to voice my opinion on this product.

So any review on any product has to be about good things. What a ####in joke:barf:

Which kit did you get btw?

Well if he was wondering who made it, then he is an idiot. But if he was asking which RnR kit it was, then I think you owe him an apologie. It was the RnR 1 kit. the one that comes with a 50 trim. I like alot about the kit. Im just having alot of small fitment problems. Like the O2 housing hitting the oil filter. Its not a huge deal. Just need to buy a relocation kit. But its more money out of my pocket, and I was never informed that I needed one. Also it seems that the manifold flange was never check to see if it was striaght after welding. So now I have to take it and get machined. Also not the biggest deal, but again money, and hassle. There are a few other things but im not going to mention.
