possible to change a CA ecu to federal/ std.

hey guys, just a quick question. is ther a way you change a california ecu into a federal ecu. I pulled all my emissions stuff out of my car and you guessed it, my egr valve isnt working since i pulled its vacumm source.now my CEL is on all the time, i can clear it with my pocket-logger but once or twice a day gets old. i just clipped the "magical" pink wire to shut the abs light off on the dash while the logger is plugged in, but i want the CEL light off to. im tired of the "whats wrong with your car" questions when they see it. is there a capacitor or something i can clip to get rid of that???? any help appreciated.

Simple... (ONLY 1Gs) Solder a 1K resistor into position 134 inside your existing ECU... 've seen this posted on the BADSM.ORG VFAQ... I just took it one step further, and soldered a pair of wires that go outside the ECU, so I can plug it in when I want, and remove it for smog testing (Thanx to a Molex plug, the ECU side has the two pins from the ECU's board #134, the other side of the molex has the 1K resistor). I used a 1/4 watt one for my ECU and it continues to work fine.

Hope this will keep the CEL bulb in your car... You'll never know when your ECU throws a different code!
