just looking for personal refrences since no one in my local area keeps these stocked or much info on hand. any thoughts? the few posts ive seen about the obx intake they are not good.

I have about 7k in my motor alone and alot of people dog obx but I run their intake and havnt had any issues as far as it running good and lasting. I have had it on my car for over a year. It is a tight fit and not the easiest thing to work on compared to stock. After I got use to it tho I have no problem working on it now. If you have your motor built its not a bad mod to have. There are other intakes and you can just port the stock one. So you have options.

ok. i dont know much about intake manifolds so....how bout that egr valve delete on the obx..have you figured out how to by pass to get the check engine light off?

As long as you leave the solenoid plugged in you won't get a check engine light. Also what are you expecting to gain from a ported or aftermarket intake manifold?

The best intake really other then stock is an AMM intake or a custom one like I had. They are really only good for turbo or if you are hitting high rpms due to the drop in low end hp and tq but you will gain in the top end. I see no real problem with the obx intake but really to much modding to make it work for stock use and to gain almost nothing id go with a nice port job on the stock intake and that will take you a long way.

For your options on the 420a for aftermarket intakes is limited and very rare. Like I said you have the -AMM (all motor mike) price 400+$
-A custom intake you have made or build it your self 600+$
-Venom (if you find one) 300$
-OBX 125$ (some what still easy to find)
-OBX knock off NO name 80$ on ebay.

Those are all you choices. Just to add the OBX needs port work to make it an affective intake if you get one you will see (low quality).
