Ok, well i have a ported 1g manifold on my car. I know i know... should have got a 2g and ported it, or even an EVO one... But, the truth is, i was told that this was just as good as a "mild 2g ported manifold." (just for the record, this was a while ago, before i knew anything about anything regarding DSM's!) ... well, i must say that it is ported pretty damn nice, but i cant get over the fact that its a 1g. Im just curious on how big of a differance a ported 2g, or ported EVO manifold would be. At first i was thinking it would be a very small differance... but more i read, and more i think about it....... i dont know. Right now with my exhaust, ported manifold and o2 housing, im spooling around 2500-2600. could i expect 2300-2400 woth the 2g? ... sorry for the newbie questions.. but i just need to get these thoughts out of my head!!

according to a recent thread, you can easily get the 1g manifold to the point of a ported 2g manifold.

the only downsize is that is could crack.

happen to have the link? i was looking at Vfaq, and was thinking to myself that there is NO way an extremly ported 1g manifold would flow the same numbers as a fully ported 2g.

If your 1g manifold is in good shape, do not worry about it. There are other places your time and money would be bettet spent.
