Pocket Logging

I have a palm and i am getting a pocket logger and i will be getting the gm mas and translator. Once i start logging what am i looking for????? I am brand new to tuning....are there websites that could give me a crash course.....any info would be awesome...thanks guys

Since you're a 1g dsm you can tune with the pocketlogger and look at knock count and timing advance. You're very lucky you can see knock count, use 2g cars can not.

You should really read through most of the posts in this Tuning Talk section. You'll find other websites dealing with tuning. Or search for 1g tuning or knock count or something like that.

I dont have an afc or a TMO.....is there anything out there for a pocket logger?

These are general tuning tips. Not TMO or AFC specific.
They will do.

And if you don't know how to read a graph, then you may want some help. If you can read graphs. it will be simple.

Article 1 had some really good points (minus tuning for each 1K RPM)
but explains fuel trims and others real well.
Article 2 covered timing well.

Most important. Keep an eye on Knock and Timing.

Try it. It's not as hard as it looks.

P.S. I am getting a Translator and will be in the same situation as you.
But it's pretty straight forward.
