Well I've been searching for a mighty max for about 2 years now and came across one last night on Craigslist. Guy was only asking 300 DOLLARS!!! I went up and bought it today and I'm in love with it. It's a rust free 2wd 5 speed car. The trans and motor is no good so my plan is to swap a narrow block 4g63 in it and run a gm auto trans. I've been reading on project zero g a lot lately and they seem like a really fun car!! Is there any other good sites with information sbout 4g63 swaps and other things?
Also where should I look to find a new grille and headlights? I was also really curious about how much my truck weighs? I was readiń and it looks like 2700 lbs or so. I think a 4g63 with an auto gm trans eith overdrive would be a blast and wouldn't take much power to have a fun street car.
So far I've noticed I'm going to need a dsm 4g63...4g63 harness and Ecu..modded intake manifold...modified water neck..maybe some timing components?....custom trans plate...custom driveshaft... And modded rear end.
This car is going to be a slow project as my gsx is my baby and I'm going to finish it first. ( cams e85 and better fmic ) but I am super excited to play around with this mighty Max! As soon as the weather gets a little warmer I'm going to pull the bed off and wire wheel the whole underneath and paint it.
I posted some pictures of the MM please let me know if they worked.
