Currently trying to figure out why there's a parasitic draw on my 2G GST. I have a brand new alternator on it. I ended up removing an aftermarket alarm system installed on it and I was able to get 88-90mA draw when the doors are closed, was hoping to get it to 50mA. Although when I open the door the draw goes to 700mA. My only question is if that 600mA jump is normal when the door is opened. I'm assuming it is because the interior lights/alarm whatever goes on, but I feel like that a little too much. It used to draw 1.5 - 2A before I started removing the stuff the previous owner installed (amplifier, stereo, alarm).

Convert your interior light bulbs to LED and the draw will be lower with the door open, which is beneficial when working on the car requires leaving the door open for extended periods.

If there is an aftermarket radio, it may be contributing to the draw.

To test specific circuits, pull fuses, one at a time and measure. Most members find the most draw on the radio fuse since it has a large number of accessories powered by it.

There are recent threads on this subject too that may have additional suggestions so Search those out.

Yeah I have all LEDs interior and my radio is currently unplugged. Also which fusebox the one in the interior or both? Also do you know what current draw should be with the door open, is 700mA abnormal.
