This is inspiring, keep up the high quality work Tony!
Moral support…that’s what I’m here for Jeff 😄.
I did! The 20 amp relay was bad, so I replaced it with a 40/30amp, with a single in-line 8gauge/40amp fuse directly from the battery in the trunk:thumb:
Hell yeah!! Glad it was just that. Think it’s a good idea to carry some sort of fire suppressant. I need one also.

While the hood was off, figured I’d tackle the rust. Not sure how common this is or if it’s from the car having a hood bra at some point but it was annoying to look at when hood was open.

Got all the rust out, sprayed it down with Ospho, clean it, painted it and finished with matte clear. The hood is nowhere near perfect but at least it’s not an eye sore.

Going to start the engine today to check oil pressure. If it’s within reason, I’ll put the timing side all back together. Flush coolant and hope to drive it here in the next few days.

Next I’ll be looking to replace the hood insulator. Saw a great option on a previous post. Just have to find it.

Thanks for following!

Oh yeah, what did you do to convert to those hood struts? I need to do the same for mine.

I was hoping that was the thread you had used as I was just looking at that when you replied. Thank you. Are you going to make it to Norwalk this weekend?

Originally I was, then I crank walked the block LOL. Just got it back together and want to make sure everything is kosher before taking it on a long drive, baby steps. Definitely next year though

Hows everything looking so far Tony? Were you able to turn it over?
Flushed coolant at lunch and gave it a wash. All seems good except oil pressure above idle up to 3k is at 60psi so gonna drain the oil to port the ofh, inspect the oil and filter. It’s been like this since the BSE. Hope to get this resolved

Will shims/copper o ring lower the pressure on that one octagon bolt? Maybe add or remove shims before permanent grinding/porting.🤔
I know you know what you're doing, just suggesting before these permanent decisions/moves. Keep us updated T! Much love 🤘🏼

For sure. It’s good everywhere else, idle and above 3k so I just need to remove a little at the opening. Just can’t over due it LOL. Much love Lorenzo!!

I can't wait till next year mins has all the parts just needs a tune paint and break in my south bend clutch and new engine.
It’ll get there Vic! Baby steps

i think that connector you are wondering about is the a/c connector. Does your car have a/c or was it taken out
Single black wire, black connector? Yes it’s for the compressor and I did put ac back in the car. Not charged yet. Most likely next year as I want to change the heater core and evaporator.

Ported the ofh yesterday and it about normal.

Just have to install the timing cover and a few other things.

First time doing a blend job. Came out pretty decent after putting in 20+ hours on this hood and 3 trips to the paint store.
