I went to an all white high school but that was just because of the area, then I moved to Indy and went to metropolitan school having never seen a black person in real life. I had more fun at the one in Indy...I just don't see what the big deal is, we're all people. I'm afraid I'd boycott the "whites only prom" if I went to that school.

Well i am latino and all i have to say to that high school is grow up.... i would hate that if it happened in my school and there would probably be a huge fight over this ( i mean real fight ) .... i thought that segregation stopped 30 or 40 years ago i was wrong.... man this really gets me mad :mad oh man i feel like jumping in my GST and going with my crew to show that school staff a piece of our mind..... that is so racist

the school staff has nothing to do with it...the school doesn't sponsor the dances to avoid this. it's all put on by the students...they do fundraisers and shit to get the money, then put it on. It's basically put on by clubs

they tried this at my first school, but all the redneck students stood at the doors and wouldn't let them in...the started throwin shit at em, swingin at em and shit like that...it was quite sad really. I'm not really what you call a "social" person, but still.

Sad to say but i do truely agree. Alot of white people i know around here have tried to chill at a black persons club (not being racist) and they got the shit beat outa em. That was truely sad!

I remember in 7th grade the principal chose to bring different "types of kids" to a seminar to talk about racism.... well they first put us in a big room and then broke us up into different groups... the white people in one room the latinos, black, asians, middle eastern, in another you get the picture... well one black kid thought he was white and hid in the white kids room... nearing the end of the discussion he jumped out of the closet ran to the black kids room and told them all the sh!t the white kids were saying.... this is when all hell broke loose..... so of course the black kids tell us latinos asians and middle eastern guys to back them up because they were talking mad sh!t....it was crazyyyyyyyyyyy! we started in the dinning hall and ended up fighting outside the building...I guess that seminar did not help at all.....

i grew up in an all white school it sucked. we was so plagued with racism that when we finnally did get somone other than a white person they would leave with in 2 weeks and go to a private school. my school is very ignorant and i hope that they grow up

I totally disagree. Racism isn't going to just magically disappear. It is something that has to be looked in the face and understood. Only by examining the roots of racism, and proving it to be a drag on the further evolution of mankind, are we going to overcome it.

We have to examine racism. I think it will give us a much better uderstanding of other cultures, and why we all think the way that we do.

This situation is f*cked up. I thought all that segregation bullshit ended a long time ago. Why are the majority of americans like that? nonvetec1, you're in germany & i'm sure you can testify to this. in germany it's pretty much all white, but they go nuts for black guys etc. i mean, some places in the states you see similar examples of mixed couples, personal prefernces, etc. I've never seen more bullshit like this since i moved to 'bama. & mark my words, i can't wait for the government to move me somewhere......overseas. granted, some black folks are ignorant, and vice versa.....i can't disagree with that.
But seriously, this shit needs to end, but with these kids learning this shit from their parents, it'll probably never end...it'll just get worse once they pass it down to thier kids.....that's why i ride holding a burner.....
