And some people have no clue what this thread is about. It's not about being on this site the day the man switched the on button for the internet. It was about the days of everyone killing time here at work. When a certain click, was the members of this site. The time from Mid-Late 02 was a very fun time here. That was the point of the thread Mr. I invented the interent.

:nono: ;)

Right so I was replying to the replies in thread, in which people bragged about being "old", so ummm yeah thanks for your input.
I wasn't part of the lounge click, I was one of the only people posting actual technical information, I guess no one cared about any of that though huh?
I didn't invent the internet, talon digest was around waaaaaaay before me.

If it was not already mentioned, don't forget about LarryD. He was the man that inspired me to convert my car to the 97-99 body style. Damn, I still miss his car...just when he swapped everything into the GSX too!

Old school? I'm really late to the party but I'm still around. I mainly stopped posting here because I no longer own a DSM and got a little tired of arguing about tech stuff that at the end of the day didn't really matter to me. I spent my last posting days here adding teh funnAy to the Hangout, and was told about DSMLife (at the time) and transferred over there. Turned out to be a very great group of people, one really great person in particular, and I enjoyed killing time at work there. It's nice to see some familiar names here though. Good to see you all.

Regards,

Holy crap. Aslan, Jamie, Tom, Nick...etc. It's like a ####ing retro DSMTuners in here. Bring out the Tapioca and the walkers, its geriatric day here at DSMTuners. Well all except you Jamie. You out of your diapers yet?:D

they all left this site because it has gone SOFT

People who think this site is 'soft' want to be able to flame people and not get banned for it. Or they want to be able to post whatever the hell they want, regardless of how detrimental it is to the community. There are plenty of other sites that allow assholes to talk down to people, or people to post whiny girlfriend stories, heated political arguments, and porn. We keep things more civil here. If you consider that 'soft', we don't mind. We don't allow as much off topic BS and flaming like we used to. If that's 'soft', oh well.

I don't mind you posting your opinion. But understand that we all have our opinion as to what a good site is. I think we have one of the best all around sites - very little BS and yet, it's not a boot camp where moderators are spitting in your face. You don't get slapped for not using the search and yet, people know they need to research before they post (okay, not everyone). The Hangout has relaxed a bit on the moderation. But it probably won't go back to exactly what it was a few years ago.

I can't say I don't miss the old days, even with all the guys who caused trouble for me and the moderators. Those who got pissed at me for tightening up the Hangout rules and went off to start their own 'no-rules' site. It was fun, but a lot of work trying to keep the peace. In the end, we couldn't please everyone, so we focused more on keeping the people happy who were more interested in tech info and made the Hangout more tame.

We've loosened the reigns on the Hangout a bit. Hopefully those who post there will enjoy it a little more. I enjoy shooting the shit with anyone who loves DSMs and racing as much as I do.

Here's to all the old schoolers who helped make this site fun back in the day :thumb:
You know who you are.

Why don't we have all the old-schoolers update us on what's going on in their lives right now? Current car projects, family, work, etc... It would be good to hear from everyone.
Hey Chris,

I finished my degree In computer services and network technology last year, I'm currently working full time for Verizon Wireless as a Data Techinican in Seattle, I just got my own condo here about a month ago, I don't have a family, or at least that I know of :) I sold my evo to one of my best friends Nick (NDGsx), I currently run www.posdsm.com, and am Co-President of the NWDSM Organizing/administrating all the meets and such, and still do all the Photography/Media for all of the NWDSM, including for 2 separate Northwest Rally teams. And other misc things, Which I enjoy more than having either one of my old cars. I noticed you used a picture of Mark Pontorolo's GVR-4 in the calander that I took last year, I thought that was pretty cool.

Looks like that whimpy 16g didint last you very long :p Anyways, By now you probobly know who I am, I don't need to mention much more, I'm not here to cause any trouble, Just saw the thread and thought I would say hi.

Cheers

I got a PM from Ed(Eclipse4x4) a few weeks ago. I remember so many of these names as well. Don't let this member number fool you. I was originally Phoenix_RsX. fell out hear for quite a long time, and really didn't resurface till recently. Anyway, I too miss alot of the people that were here alot. Like LarryD, GSXTCY, ITSOVER(either his mem name, or plates), boostneklipz, so forth and so forth.

Nice to hear from you Matt. And thanks for posting an update. You'll have to share some of your photography with us. Glad to hear you're doing well. ;)

Hopefully we can get some of you NWDSM guys to post your meets in our NW calendar so that our members can get in touch with other locals.

Chris, I totally agree with why you changed it. There is no decent reason to let people noob bash and be #### offs all day on your dime. Completely understandable. A decent group of the members here moved around to a few sites, now I currently run my own forum. It's nothing fancy.

As far as projects and life, well.....

I work at the same place I always have, 5 years in the hole here. It's going great, I'm managing the parts & service dept and I love it. I just moved into a decent house with a nice garage so I'm now returning to projects that I never had a chance to finish. I sold the dsm and I have a 69 Mustang coupe, 302/C4/ Disc brakes, not bad. Doing a full restore on it. I've also gotten really heavy into bikes. I love them. So reliable, they never break.

There's tons of other stuff but nothing important. I still lurk, I love the site and really just like to see that it's doing so well.
