Whelp, I'm just about at 2 weeks before my move so I'm gonna toss up some stuff. Hope you all enjoy and that you see some stuff you haven't before. Watch for a few more posts over the next couple weeks. And we all thought Buschur had the first RWD 1G....! Some cool Archer stuff.....and, the Rossi teaser I promised.
Awesome stuff Phil. Love the shot of the Mopar Performance Talon. The Rossi stuff is great. Hope all goes well with the move.
Scanned another article in. This article was written after the the consumer focus group was held displaying the new line up of DSM models.
The crazy thing in this article states that 4 models were displayed, test driven and reviewed.
1. 1.8 liter NA - Least expensive model
2. 2.0 liter NA 4cyl. - Upscale model
3. 3.0 liter V6 NA - Luxury model
4. 2.0 Liter Turbo - Sport Model
Now that "luxury model" V6 powered H24S 1G must be a Unicorn.
Some more rare stuff..
The rarest thing I have is a dinner plate from the grand opening dinner held November 10, 1988. I sent it out to some of the most well known DSMers and had it signed. You must be logged in to view this image or video.
Yes it sure is, April 88 . Here is a link to my scan, not just an attachment. I know you like the high res. stuff.Glad you like!
The same car from the cover of the 1987 Autoweek. Is this one from Popular Mechanics?
Not much power at all. The car hit over 200mph.I actually like the HSR Galant alot better than the HSR II.
It's a machine well before it's time.
I'd love to know how much power it took out of the 4G63 to get that car to 200 mph. I bet it's less than we think with that aero.....
I have to take a minute to say "Thank You" for scanning and posting all this stuff.
My pleasure. I know most of us who have been in the game for 20+years enjoy this stuff too. We all have bits and pieces of the DSM journey like a jigsaw puzzle. And all the articles, ads, newspapers, books and memorabilia paint a picture of it all. I actually feel like its an obligation to pass it on. Because, I know some of the stuff may be gone and lost forever if we dont pass it on to the next up and coming group.
Here is another scan from the late 80's. This is for the 1989 Laser. I know we have alot of Laser die-hards amongst us. This one is a good read. They also mention how the turbo laser with no AC weighed in at 2660.
Cool how they say it is the hottest plymouth since the 340 Duster.
They also say it was as fast in their test as the '88 Saleen Mustang.
I would also like to say thanks to all the guys for scanning the old articles, ads, etc. I just did a handful today and it does take time.
Well, I promised Phil I would upload some stuff and share it out. Hope that are not duplicates already.
This is a cool article. I'm pretty sure I've got this one packed away still intact in the magazine.....I can't remember if its from an old Car Craft or Popular Hot Rodding maybe?
I love the Laser's.....in certain ways more than the Talon TSi.

I have this mag a work currently, so dont know the month right off hand but it is a Car Craft article. I know you are fond of the Laser's so I have been trying to scan those in as best as possible.
You have some real good road race stuff.
The Goodyear article was a staple of many early mags. Good post.
Your 90 Talon brochure is a sweet piece for sure, incredible condition. thanks for sharing.
Just a couple quick pics of some of my old japanese articles. I'll scan them in higher quality when I get some time.
1. July 1990, article entitled "Unique Car", debut of the Gullwing Eclipse GSR4
2. January 1990, article to debut the GSR4. Funny to see the article say"New Import Car"
BAD ASS! Eagle stuff flooding this page full of win!!! thanks guys for scanning all of that!
No biggie.....if you can find the year/month that would be awesome. Yes, for whatever reason, I do love the 90-91 Laser's basic stealth look. I've had two of them....and plan to get another one someday.
The brochures you have from Japan are just nuts, I never knew the market was that hot for an "import." Really cool stuff though. Love the R32 at the bottom too!
I think I even have some old pictures of your car from Extreme. I had got my Big Brake kit from there back in the day. I'll look through some of my old photos. Think I have some of my first mods.First pic is me swapping my original exhaust mani out in favor of the ported 2G unit......circa summer '98. A few more pics of Paul Rossi Talons, enjoy!
