Oil problem with 97 Eclipse... HTML!

Hey I test drove a 97 GS-Spyder with 43K on it. The exhaust has some oil in the exhaust which led me to an engine problem. My mechanic said Mitsubishi is notorious for having motors that suck and spit oil.

Does anyone else have this problem? It is a bad one or fixable?

Don't buy that car dude. It has major problems. If you buy it, you'll need a rebuild. Sound like fun?

Sounds like your mechanic sucks, and blows smoke out his ass. Of the many foibles, failures, flakiness and freaks that are DSM, oil containment or overuse isn't one I've heard of nor experienced. You might find another mechanic to have look over this car, if it's one you're stuck on.
