yes I searched but no one really answered the question that I had,

My stock 91 housing is crushed so I am losing oil into my coolant. my question is on the stock 91 housing can I just loop the coolant lines that go into the housing and there are two big plugs on the back side. Can I just find a fitting that would go into those said plugs and run an external oil coolant radiator deal?

I know the stock housing isn't cheap by any means and I was dumb and didn't take it off my 90 before going to the junk yard.

any help would be great!

If the plugs you are talking about are allen plugs, it would either bypass oil around the filter or the oil wouldn't circulate through the cooler depending on if they are off the same galley.

Also, the '90 OFH has a "thermostat" that controls when the oil is circulated through the cooler, getting it up to temp quicker(which is a good thing) yet cooling it once it's up to a certain temperature.

Don't think it'd work well :( I don't know the effects of just running without the cooler hooked up at all on a turbo car but I'm sure it's better than coolant in the oil...

You could get a male - male adapter to connect the lines together temporarily. i've done this during testing on my first engine swap before i made an external cooler and gotrid of that junk-a$$ oil filter sandwich thing LOL

As for an oil cooler, go to a junk yard and get an oil or tranny cooler with 5/16ths' barbed tubes coming out of it (most dodge applications have this), then you cut off the barb and get a 5/16 compression to the male thread adapter to fit your lines (mine are -6 AN) My oil cooler cost 5 bucks :D (but add 30 dollars in fittings and lines if you want to get technical)

Could we get some pic of your set up?

If you're asking about mine, they are already posted in one of the previous oil cooler threads and it won't let me double upload them.. I'll see if i cn link to it.

so you didn't have to use a 90 ofh?

i did the same thing only i think i only have about 5$ in my whole oil cooler. i have a 90 ofh on my first gen it had a trashed core so i used a tranny cooler from a dodge caravan i had recently replaced at work(freebie). installed that purchased a tranny cooler remount kit that came with high pressure hose. i used the stock lines that attach to the housing and flared the ends and used high pressure hose clamps from work that are used on tranny cooler lines. works good so far
