Good grief. I can't tell you how many helicoils I've done and this one just will NOT thread in. I'm using helicoil 4833 o2 sensor thread repair kit. Any tips?
This is not on a dsm. It's on a 2004 hyundai sante fe 2.4. I have plenty of access to the area but I've tried everything and now I've used up every coil in the kit. I'M DONE for the day. Completely defeated and now I'm 200$ in and still it's not fixed.
Anybody see this and want to text I'm 405-503-4999.

cant you just cut the old bung out (carefully) and weld a new bung in?

Well piss on it I got it. Those that gave me suggestions thanks. Welding wasn't an option really. Cast manifold. O2 helicoil kit 4833 sucks.

I used a helicoil 4833 o2 sensor thread repair kit. I wouldn't recommend it. I've done dozens of helicoils and this one sucked. If you have to do a thread repair if at all possible use a timesert. The usual method of helicoil doesn't work. You have to use their special tool. I went through 6 expensive inserts before I got one to thread correctly. In addition the kit doesn't include a drill bit if you need it. It was a 200$ repair.

It was probably cheaper to replace the manifold.

Already looked. It is. Dollars to donuts I would've broken several bolts and the cat for this car is right off the manifold. I'm not touching those. Moot point. Its fixed. Its a cheap car fir my son anyway.
