Ok I have my techedge wideband kit and my NTK L1H1 sensor that I am ready to install now. What I need to know is how can I use the NTK sensor in place of my stock o2 sensor? I know you can do this with the AEM I used to run but can you still do this with the stock ECU?

You can however it will change how your car runs slightly when you hook it back up after tuning. What you need to do is put an additional O2 bung in your downpipe after your turbo and use that for reading. Many companies sell them with plugs so that you can just put the plug in after your done tuning.

I want to use it all the time though, not just for tuning. Since it is a stock o2 sensor out of the Civic VX as long as I do not run leaded gas on it it should be fine.

What I wanted to know what how can I replace my stock o2 sensor with the NTK L1H1 but I think Im going to just put another bung in the downpipe and put this o2 in addition and keep my stock o2 sensor hooked up to the ECU.

No you cant use a wide to replace a narrow they send different signals and you can't use it for that. Also you can not have a wideband o2 in your pipe that is not hooked up. It kills the sensor.

Your best route is to put in another bung and leave it in all the time hooked up and running. It will be fine.

Actually the NTK L1H1 can be used as both, wide and narrow band. Thats why you can swap it out with the stock sensor. What I needed to know is how :)

This has been discussed on the AEM forums regarding the EMS, I just did not know how to wire it for the stock ECU.

Yes, with an AEM you can use it however you want.

Stock ecu is calibrated to the stock sensor. You cannot use it as a replacement for your stock sensor.

You could try putting it in the downstream o2 sensor location. It never threw a CEL in my 2g when I unplugged.

Gotcha. I understand now because with the AEM I could basically do whatever I wanted. I wasnt sure if the stock ecu would read the o2 sensor or not. Im just going to install another bung and use it in there. Thanks :)

Someone should have asked to have an extra o2 bung welded on his o2 housing.

Someone didnt have the techedge at the time :)

Not a big deal, Im going to just get the bung welded below the flex section in the downpipe where it will be easily accessible, btw Kevin the car is running great :)

Aint that the truth. Im only pushing 8lbs of boost right now but the car is running hella strong for 8lbs. Im going to wait to install the wideband before I up the boost at all. Being very precautious about everything.

What version of the Techedge did you go with? I am guessing 1.5. I was waiting on version 2.0 to come out..should have been out in February, then they delayed till May, and last I checked it was May/June. I just went with the FJO. I did like everyone here suggested and had a bung welded on my dowpipe. I'm just waiting on the stupid O2 sensor to get here now...what a pricejack if I ever seen one.

I have the TE1.5. I found a source for the NTK L1H1

you can buy the sensor on ebay

I found the sensor for a resonable price and hooked Larry up. It was cheaper than what most of the ebay auctions started at and I didnt have to worry about who I was buying it from.
