Well I finally got around to trying to replace my wheel bearing the other week after driving around with it causing all kinds of vibrations. The problems started as soon as I took the wheel off. At first I tried to pull the cotter pin out, but it just ripped in half cause it was rusted so badly. After I pounded the remainder of the pin out I couldn't get the axle not off. So I put a 8 ft pipe on the end of the wrench, and I snap my half inch drive breaker bar. So I drive up to Sears pick up a new one and go back at it. Finally after heating the nut up several times it breaks free. So I go to pull the hub assembly off and the F$#@er won't budge. So I remove the axle from the differential with the whole hub assembly and everything attached. First I go easy on it. I tried a puller with an impact wrench. No good. So now I start to get even more frustrated after all the earlier problems and take it straight to the 20 ton press. Still no good. I can't get the damn axle to even budge. Anyone have any ideas on what I could do? I would rather not spend the $450 dollars that mitsubishi charges for the entire hub assembly w/ spindle and everything plus the splined portion of the axle. It wouldn't be as bad if it was the front, at least I was able to fid remanned front axles and hubs, but I am just having zero luck with the rear.
