i searched this area for my question but i cannot find a definite answer..
i only want a 35 hp shot into it and i heard that you can tap 1 inch from the throttle body is this true... or would i need a better fuel regulator, fuel pump ,, or bigger injectors... i really need the answer i bought the dry kit for my old 95 rs but i sold the car and never used the dry kit.... any suggestions or if anybody wants to buy i am letting it go for cheap

HONDA ARE FREEBIES V8S ARE EARNED

I had a dry kit on a '97 RS. It was all stock except for a ported head. It worked fine with a 50-60 shot but anything more that that caused a lot of problems. Mine was tapped about 2 inches from the throttle body.

You had the nozzle plumbed too close to the TB for a dry kit. You want that a good 10-12 inches away for proper atomization. I know you probably don't have the car anymore, but I just wanted to point that out for reference.

Regards,

why put the NOS in for only a 35 shot? just crank the boost up. i'd go with a wet kit on a GST because the injectors already have quite a task. i don't know what your fuel system is comprised of, but the wet kit would take the guesswork out of figuring the fuel load out. You could convert the dry kit to wet real easily, you need another solenoid, a different nozzle, braided line, and some misc. fittings and stuff, wouldn't be too hard. :dsm:

Wet just seems to be much safer in my experence, and a 35shot is quite a punch when sprayed on boost, a 35 shot on a turbocharged car will add more HP than a 50 or maby even a 75 shot on an na car..

Why is that? I would think nitrous would make less difference in a forced induction engine.

Is it because it cools the incoming air so well?

Im not exactly sure, maby because turbo cars tend to spray much more fuel than NA cars of the same displacment.. so there is more air, and fuel for the nitrous to play with... very very vague terms i know.. im not an expert as to why..

Well the reason nitrous makes more power on turbocharged engines, its simply cause it cools down the incoming air, makes it more denser and makes a greater combustion, as you'all know the exhaust gases are pretty hot, and the turbo recirculates that air and stuck it into the cylinders, so by adding nos or CO2 as a cooler makes your combustion more eficient, specially when you don't have a biger intercooler. A 35 shot will make 50+ hp, this is when it comes handy to do your fuel pump re-wire. it help alot.

I want to set a 35 hp shot on my 90 gst as well, but what I have in mind is:
Turn my boost up, and set my nitrous nozzle before the intercooler simply to cool the air, rather than use Nos as a second power suply, I'm not really a nitrous fan on turbo cars, but if you set it up good, it can help you reach more top end power.

PS: did you know that when you use Nos you keep your intake manifold cleaner... it's a fact.

I was considering using a n20 fogger setup where i spray not at the TB elbow but insted tap my frontmount, still get a punch from the n20 itself plus the added cooling would reduce knock....

I dont like Nitrous either.. but nitrous is like Nuclear weapons.. nobody really likes it, but if the other guy has it and you dont, you could be in trouble.

Nitrous injection increases power more on turbocharged cars because of the intercooling effect mentioned above. But also the nitrous enters the combustion chamber as 1 molecule, and leaves as 3. In effect you generate an incredible amount of exhaust to the point that the wastegate can't handle it all. You then force the extra exhaust down the turbine. Resulting in a 2-3 pound uncontrollable boost spike.

With that said I will tell you right now that you are asking for trouble by using a dry kit on a turbocharged car. Turbo cars already have a rising rate fuel pressure regulator, so by forcing more pressure on the FPR you WILL dead head your fuel pump. Not only is this really bad for your fuel pump and injectors, it will lead you to run lean at higher RPM and you will toast your engine.

Now on the other side, with a wet kit, there is another problem. By opening up an additional fuel line with the nitrous solenoid your fuel system will experience a monentary pressure drop. The pressure will literally drop down to a couple psi for a fraction of a second. At the same time the nitrous is flowing into you engine before the extra fuel (nitrous is pressurized to 900 psi, fuel to 40 psi). This instant of right when the nitrous kicks in is where engine damage is done. So the best setup is a wet kit with an external fuel system.

My last setup was on my Toyota MR2. I was running a 125 shot and running an additional 15 pounds of boost. I made 20 runs with this and the engine never suffered any ill effects. I also had the timing pulled 4 degrees with the activation of the nitrous, something I recommend any juicer do (2-4 degree timing retard).

Yeah the timing retard is a must when runing Boost + Nos, at least 2 degrees, also don't even think using gas lower than 91 octane, if in your area you have 93, go for it. But again, before going with the nos setup, fo your fuel pump re-wire. it's not really hard, and will add more fuel pressure.

But Without contradicting your fuel theory Sallystrothers, I think your right, but if your running a 35 dry shot with 15 pounds of boost, you won't experience all that boost creep, specially if you have some better exhaust piping than the stock. Unless you're running 15 lbs and 125 shot. I mean thats a big setup, but 35 dry shot on a 90 GST with a few mods, should be fine.

thanks alot guys .... today really sucked i had my subwoofers stolen and all my boost water and oil gauges stolen and also my tools were stolen.... the worst part was i raced a civic hatchback .... the guy said it was basically stock .... when i raced him the civic took off like a bat out of hell... just lets say i found a major boost leak.... im going for the 35 shot definetly this is my second race i lost and i wont let it happen again
