Well crap.....I've purchased a 2004 hyundai sante fe manual trans for the 16yr old. Didnt get 15 miles before it wouldnt shift. Owner had changed slave and master recently. I bleed it again. No change. I suspect it has a bad clutch or worse a bad dual mass flywheel. Anybody have any knowledge if these dual mass flywheels? There are solid flywheel conversions available. Just gathering info. Dunno what I've gotten myself into.

Update. I had to move the car. Pedal fell to the floor. Pulled it up and now its rock solid halfway down. Car is undriveable and I cant start it. Clutch switch doesnt unplug like dsm. It's also a pull type clutch. Not sure how that plays into things.

IDK about them personally for Santa Fe's, but Nissan and Ford dual mass flywheels I hate. It's been a while, but if the DMF was bad I'd suspect alot of noise and still being able to move. Sounds like you have a failed master cylinder or overextended slave, possibly a broken or popped loose TOB or the equivalent. I can't get a PDF FSM right now unfortunately to check further.

Are you sure it's a pull type clutch?

I'd reverify the hydraulic side of things before getting too far into it.

It looks to be a popped TOB. I can't get it back on. I'm not sure it's a dual mass now. Slave is not overextended. I think I've ruled out everything external. In a strange turn of events I went through old paperwork in the car and a friend of mine once owned it (before I met him). He had changed a clutch 8 or 9 years ago and thought it wasn't dual mass. Small world.

My car (non Dsm) has a dual mass flywheel in it, it is noisy vs non dual mass, other than that I dont notice much different other than maybe softer engagement.
