no power =[

When i first bought my car, it was fast, had some pull.. but lately, its just.. dying, has no pull, has no pick up after like 4k rpms.. not sure whats wrong.. my friends 98 4cyl accord has more pick up then my talon.. and his isn't even dohc!!.. I can't beat the cars I was able to anymore.. this sucks..

I got new spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, compression tested it and it was pretty high, no vaccum leaks.. any ideas?.. i want some power back!

make sure the plugs and wires have good connections. if the engine isn't getting a good spark the power wont be there.

8mm wires, spark is good, even use 93 octane gas.. oil change ever 3000km, hmmm.. fluids are all good.. no exhaust leaks, i don't know anymore =[

have you checked your exhaust smoke?? like the color?? cause maybe you're burning oil..check your oil once every week and if it decreases drastically, then you're burning oil.. that can be valve seals, or tapered cylinders..i guess what i'm trying to say is check your internals..

yea stalker is right, when i first got my GS i had lots of pick up the car had pretty decent power but after a while id would loose power at higher rpm after5 or so, adn it was because i was burning up oin in the combustion chamber. my piston rings were shot and somethin was wrong with my vlaves. Yea check ur oil and make sure u have good amounts of it or else ur motor will sieze. i bought a new motor with less milage from mitsubishigraveyard.com. Good luck dude hopefully it aint that bad.

thanks guys, yea I check my oil, I changed my oil like 2 weeks ago and its still at the max line.. dunno what it could be, I know i burn oil, but not a lot, like at 3 month it will probably be half way

when you mean no power, are you saying the power is not there at all??? or does it have a hesitation before you actually start moving?? cause maybe thats your clutch if you have a manual trans or a your torque converter if you have an auto..cause poor acceleration is a sign of a bad clutch or torque conv..

since you say its not your engine, maybe you should check your trans, just because the engine is basically what runs the car, you cant go anywhere without a trans.. maybe you should have your trans checked..
