While cranking the car the fuel injectors don't kick in. As soon as I stop cranking the engine you can hear them start clicking like they are pumping fuel. The car will not start it tries but it doesn't. It is a stock 1991 Eagle Talon Tsi FWD.

I do have spark and the last time the car ran was around a year ago.

Take the fuel line off the rail, stick it into a bottle, and crank the car over. If fuel comes out then you know your pump is working, if not, then you have a fuel pump problem.

It's much easier to remove the return line and run a hose to the bottle.

Check for dirty fuel lines as well as a dirty fuel filter. Have them cleaned out.

I did a compression test and I have 155 across the board. I have fuel, and spark as well as tried another ECU. It just sits and cranks with no attempt to start. The car is completely stock. Unsure of the base timing. I had a boost leak at the injectors but I got that fixed today and it still wont start.

Starting fluid would be a good test. If you have a logger getting a log of the key sensors (IAT, ECT, TPS, RPM, IPW) would be useful at this point.

What are the ECT and IPW sensors Steve? And are you saying he should log them with the car off since he can't get it started? Or while cranking or if he gets it started?

if you have fuel and spark maybe wires to the ecu temp sensor is broken or loose try a shot of starter fluid to determine that, if it still has nothing check the spark plugs as they could be fouled/oil soaked/carbonized/fuel soaked, if thats good could be a timing issue as the CAS could be 180 off or the FIAV could be bad.

if it sat for a year could be bad gas or some rodent had a fun time.

I think he is talking about Engine Coolant Temperature and Injector Pulse Width. CAS is correct as I have checked that 5 times...LOL. FIAV and EGR are both blocked off. I am going to buy a coolant temperature sensor today and see if that helps.

Exactly. And logging them while cranking will tell you first if the ECT and IAT are even in the ballpark. Before starting those should be pretty close if the car is cold. Looking at IPW will tell you if the ECU is even trying to fire the injectors. Looking at the TPS and the other analog sensors will tell you if you have other more interesting problems.

Everyone with a logger should spend a little time learning what is normal so when things are abnormal you have some idea what your looking at. An given the low cost of a logger now days that little excuse not to have/make one.

I am trying to find a logger to purchase. I changed the coolant temp. sensor and it still wont start.

Got it started today.... It was the MPI relay. Thanks for the help.
