Hey everyone- it has been a LONG while since I have posted anything on this site. Don't worry though... I come back once in awhile to snoop around and see what is going on.

I figured I would go ahead and post an update for anyone who cares to what I have been doing. *ahem* Welp.. about a year ago, the motor in my GS-T blew. Rings, pistons, valves, etc... everything dead. I had the motor torn down and rebuilt with 100% brand new parts (stock parts; i just wanted it back normal again), and it seems it's taking forever for this to be repaired since I sent the motor to the shop back in July.... Hmmm... [oh yeah, keep in mind- the motor blew itself up after my new 14B turbo upgrade install] I don't mind though, the machine work so far is amazing and the motor looks brand new! I have just been discouraged though because I have not really been able to play with my car or spend any money on it in nearly a year. It kind of sucks... and I really miss it. I spend a majority of today so far though getting ready for the new engine to come, you know, dropping the tranny and whatnot....

But I also have a new toy! Yeah... My father gave it to me for my 21st birthday and it's been a blast fixing up so far! Check it out...

Isn't she pretty? It's a 1985 Porsche 928S, V8, and with a few mods done it's around 300hp now. It was originally my father's project, but I worked on the car and cared for it way more than he did. He always wanted something a little faster and more exotic anyway. Next on his list is a mid 80's Ferrari 328GTS. Those are affordable and hella sweet!

But anyway- I have been spending my money on this beauty and making it run. It used to just sit there and look nice- but after new belts, hoses, electrical work, gaskets, seals, blah blah blah blah... it runs great and fast, too.

OH well though. I hope everyone has been great and I promise not to get rid of my Eclipse! Even with a Porsche... I miss the GS-T running. I'm just needing some motivation!

I bought a Boxster and love it. The 928 is a great car. My buddy has a 328 GTS and it's also a great car, your dad will love it. We just slapped a Tubi exhaust on his car and it sounds awesome, tell your dad to buy one of those for sure.

Is that a 32v, or a 16v? I beleive 32v started in 86? Make sure you take good care of her, they make DSMs look like the most reliable cars ever LOL. I do love the 928s a ton. www.murf928.com makes a sick supercharger setup for it. 400+hp at super low boost. Have fun, and enjoy your shark.

spinnin',

It's a 16v. You're right, the 32v started with the 86 or 86.5 model. You're also right about the reliability.. haha. It just takes a tender caring hand to make the car like new again. It sure has had some electrical gremlins in it, but they're all gone now. I'm just working on the interior right now. I'm about to ship off the two front seats, the dashboard, and A-pillars to a fantastic leather reupholster guy. Ever hear of Paul Champagne?

Fantastic work.

I'm on a waiting list though... it may take as long as July to get my sweet interior...

OH! And thanks for the link! There is also a sweet kit on www.928gt.com

I'm glad there are people on here familliar with this car!

Oh yea, I love the euros. I thought about buying one of those, or a 951t. That is in damn good shape, those run quite well! Is it a stick or auto? Also, paul does amazing work, blows my mind the way the results look!

5 speed, WOOT! Thanks for the compliments.

I have driven quite a few 928's and I have never driven one I liked. The earlier ones are extremely ick and every other 928 is ick.
Personally I would not put money into it because a 928 just is not worth it.

A true Porsche sports car is always worth it. Especially one this clean, with a 5 speed. They are hard to find, and are climbing in price. Some in good shape still go in the 30k range if found with an enthusiast. Porsche 928s run real well, especially during their time they were produced. You must think about how much older it is, non-turbo, and with plenty of room to grow. Porsche 928s with proper cams, and higher compression have shown some results at the track. These cars when built correct with forced induction can put out more power than alot of DSMs pushing 2-2.5 times the boost level. Also, I am not sure if this will work, but the Porsche 951 turbo "phone dial" wheels would look awesome on there!

Flash is entitled to his/her own opinion, so it's okay if the 928 wasn't satisfying. But, the 928 "not being worth it" is just not right. The car is much worth it! The Porsche has a wayyyy better chance of achieving high numbers in the market for resale value for a true enthusiast than the best looking/running DSM. The craftsmanship of this car is unbelievable from the hand-stitched leather dashboard to the perfectly 50/50 front and rear weight ratio (engine in front, gearbox in the back). The car handles amazing, has crazy torque, beautiful exhaust note, and in my opinion... I think the car is still "sleeping" until I can afford to slap a supercharger on it. That'll wake her up! :thumb:

And the wheels... well, they're getting replaced hopefully during my college spring break time. I'm driving to the Jacksonville FL Porsche Dealer (I forget the name of the exact one I'm going to), but they have a huge collection of wheels that customers immediately replaced after they purchased their cars. I picked out some Turbo-Twist II wheels (Front: 18"x9" Rear: 18"x11") Should be a hot look alongside those sweet red S4 brake calipers!

:]!!!
