You went from needing only the fron't bumper painted. To actually needing a paint job? I'm confused, Is this a joke..

And did you straight up spray paint the lights or, use nightshade?

Wheels cam out good. Hope your not done with the body though.

Just to start off, the pictures don't clearly show because I took them with my phone. The car was scratched all along the sides, which I had to sand down to prevent rust. Plus, I wanted something to do in the meantime while I was waiting for a new engine.

@Redwidow: yes I did...only spent 80 bucks and sprayed it myself. I'm not into a nice paint job or anything, just wanted to actually do something myself while I was bored.

@Bud92gsx: No it's not a joke. The lights actually was a friend of mine who's a civic owner (figures) and painted the back and front lights with black enamel. I had to buy new headlights and tail lights. The Headlights are Dual Halo LED Carbon Lights, and the back lights are Carbon Altezza lights.

@Bullet99: Thanks, turned out better than I thought as well. I'm not done with the body quite yet. Getting a new ground kit here soon after engine mods are done, plus I have a little bit more painting to do.

I was thinking the exact same thing. The paint that was on the car was in decent looking condition, the bumper was the only thing that needed to be painted.

I was going to, but the damage to the paint, the clearcoat coming off, I just wanted to change it up.

Didn't even notice that you're in Naples. You aren't too far away from me then.

Well i guess good job on doing it yourself but im with Bud on this one. I would have left it and just painted the front bumper because now the entire car needs paint.

I understand, but you know, this is my first DSM. Just because I dont have a $400+ dollar paint job, doesn't mean I don't appreciate my car. I wanted it to look a certain way, so I did it. I'm more of an engine guy, rather than an exterior guru. I would've given my 6 year old cousin multiple different color spray cans, and let him go to town, but I wanted to do it myself. Thanks for your input, and in all honesty, I appreciate it, I just really don't care what anyone has to say about the paint, no offense to anyone.

Where's the order of General Tso's chicken? We got the rice, wheres the chicken? j/k..
looks ehh to okay for a rattle can job. I would like to see more prep work done before the spray. Also, I would have left the head and taillights alone.
Do you plan on "finishing" the paint job up? Like wet sanding and clear coating? I believe with some more effort like i mentioned you could make yourself one nice looking ride.

Haha yeah yeah, it does look like a chinese delivery car. Eventually yes, I will wet sand it and actually get a REAL paint job, with clearcoat and everything. I just didnt want to be driving around town with a car that had a scratched paint job, and old clearcoat flying off into the wind.

Not to bad actually. I do have nite shades and clear spray to spray your lights if you want instead of paint. Pm me if you want it i never used it as my mind changed the last minute.
Instead of blue I would of sprayed it stealth black, might of turn out better. But over all it's not to bad.

Do your thing man, its your car. Take it slow, if you take on to much at once you normally get shitty results. Take on one project at a time, that way you allow your self time to do it, and get it right.

I was SO hoping that it was painters tape and NOT paint.
You've got balls though.. and I guess it's all good as long as YOU like it.

Not so sure bout this one... Theres other methods out there to do it yourself for around 100 bucks with seemingly better results.

Just because I don't have a $400+ dollar paint job,

Ha ha what paint jobs costs $400 I understand home garage jobs can be less but even with the amount of materials its still hard!

And I like your not bothered what people think at least we don't have to help you choose lights and body kits! Good luck on the smurf car he he

He's talking about the Maaco special. One paint job complete with a lifetime supply of orange peel and a side of overspray.

FYI OP with a solid paint job the paint alone will cost you 400 or more.
