We made it out for another Milan True 10.5" tire race saturday to try and hang with the RWD guys on 28x10.5" or smaller tires. The weather was hot (86F high) and the best pass was actually just off the trailer with an 8.33 at 168mph. Later on it went 8.42, 8.61 (bogged launch), 8.9 on a partial pass, and 8.37 up against a 7.90 where I lost in the semi's to the top qualifier.

The first pass details:
1.3088 60'
3.5838 330'
5.4228 @ 132.35mph 1/8th
6.9939 at 155.10mph 1000'
8.3328 at 168.06mph 1/4mi

The full passes were in the 165mph range mostly. It was miserable out and the track temps were extremely hot. The last pass had a 1.29 60', which was the best of the day. I didnt' really get much tuning done, but plan to get it to the dyno before the next time to the track, which will be the shootout. We have a baby due in just a couple weeks and it would be a little nutty to try and make it out again before the new arrival.

At the dyno I plan to test it at higher boost and with a couple little changes. It was at 43-44psi at the track and must have a leak somewhere because it wasn't willing to make any more boost. Backpressure is still relatively low, just touching 46-47psi peak. I need to get brave and boost leak test it to 50psi to see if anything starts to pop open or get some video at the dyno to see if a header slip joint is starting to open up by this pressure.

Thanks to the guys that have been helping me out:<br />

Hmm I would say......kiggly beehives....just a guess

Ha ha. That's my guess as well, but regular ones, or some custom rated super springs or something :)

The reason I ask is because I have Kigglys for my build and can't wait to put them in.

Thats Awesome Kevin. We cant wait till we race at the shoot out. Need to get some more weight out of Jeff's car. Probably will never touch your times but should be fun racing non the less.

Great times!!! Can't wait to see how much farther you can push it. How awesome would it be to see another DSM go into the 7's!!! (speaking of that, where is Shep?)

I really want to go to the shootout now. I haven't been since '05. It's too far now that i live in El Paso but it sounds like its shaping up to be amazing for sure.

I'm running my off the shelf springs with no shims or anything. This head has the valve seats cut deep too, so they are at a pretty loose installed length and only ~85-90lbs on the seat due to this. At only ~9200rpm max though, it isn't a big deal to keep the valves under control.

Fantastic job Kevin:thumb: Glad to hear you will be attending the Shootout. Like the others said, I can't wait to see you run!:D
