New member with '97 Spyder GST

Hey DSMtuners,

I recently picked up a clean 97 Spyder GST. My origional plan was to flip it, but after driving it a bit I think I'll hang on to it for awhile.

With the help of a co-worker and fellow DSMTuners member (I havent asked what his SN is) I plan on following this upgrade path from RRE 2G DSM Upgrade

So far I have removed the the BOV Dump tube and replaced the stock BoV with a Greddy Type-RS (Only because I found one for $75 shipped on another forum.)

On payday I'll be picking up a K&N and looking at some new piping.

Then it'll be time to look for a bigger turbo, if the price is right. Need to ditch this stock T-2small, Anyone want to trade with a lil $$?

welcome, glad to hear your going to hold on to the car for a little while,, there fun cars for sure

good start with the BOV and following the upgrade path

these cars can become money pits real quick but they are fun to mess around with

if i could give you a suggestion, make sure all the maintenence is up to date, ie waterpump, timing belt, tranny fluid,, just normal things youd check on any car,

once you start boosting more,, you dont want to run into problems that could of been avoided

when your looking at a new/bigger turbo -- search and read as much as you can, if you have a history with turbod cars then im sure your fine,, if not then research and buy things once and do it right the first time
