Hi I'm new here. Just signed up today. I recently purchased a 1998 eagle talon esi as a project to mess around with. Car runs great overall. 145k miles on it. Only real issue I have with the car is the obd2 port does not work. I've searched all over the forums and internet on general and tried everything I could. There is no power to pin 16 at all. Every fuse in the car works and everything in general works on the car. I'm not sure what the issue could be but any insight to what I could do to get it to work would be great. I do have a check engine light on and would love to know why. I'm also going to be picking up a 1997 Mitsubishi eclipse rs either this week or next. For spare parts or another project depending on how it runs.

If I recall right, Pin 16 is a ground? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. In any case, Try to trace that wire back as far as you can to see if you can find the other end. Welcome to the forum, and learning to be a mechanic (needed with these cars).

Thank you. You may be right. I'll do some more research on that part for sure. I know a little about these cars as I used to own a 96 talon years ago but my mechanic skill set was not what it is today and that one had far more issues to deal with. I'll likely start tracing that wire once I get my other vehicle out of my garage
