2nd gear pull...91octane 17psi on a big16g

3031rpm.....0knock.....17deg.....o2 .96.....

4218rpm.....0knock.....17deg.....02 .95.....

5125rpm.....0knock.....19deg.....o2 .94.....

6031rpm.....2knock.....21deg.....o2 .92.....

6593rpm.....8knock.....16deg.....o2 .92.....

7000rpm.....7knock.....14deg.....o2 .92.....

7218rpm.....7knock.....18deg.....o2 .88.....

The car was pulling pretty good until just over 7k. I was lucky enough to have help from John with this. We just set up a base tune, I think it can go farther than this. Just wanted to see what you all thought...:D

You need to add fuel from 6K rpm on up and I would try running 93 octane if you can.

We cant get 93 octane in AZ.

Dude: move a NE-point to 7k and add some more fuel

Hey john heres anothre with that 2% @6500
This is a run in 3rd with all the same as above but in 3rd gear....

5000rpm.....0 counts.....18deg.....o2 .96.....

5562rpm.....0 counts.....23deg.....o2 .94.....

6062rpm.....o counts.....24deg.....o2 .92.....

6593rpm.....10 counts....16deg.....o2 .92.....

6952rpm.....9 counts.....16deg.....o2 .92.....

It was a lot cooler out when I pulled this run, and boost was hitting about 17.5-18 psi very steadily with no creep at all! The car was pulling harder than earlier today. Ill try what you suggested John, and Ill post some more logs tomorrow. Thanks for all the help today...Later,
Austin

I'm going w/ everyone else here and saying you need to add some fuel above 6k. You should check dsmlink.com b/c if i remeber right they have a some charts and some real basic explanation of how the ecu advances timing, when it pulls it, and where it should (max) be at the different rpm points.

All right I added a 1% @6000 and 2% @6500 and 7000...I also dropped 1-2% from about 3-5k for spoolup...This is on 91octane and 17-17.5psi in 2nd- 3rd gear>>

2nd gear-

2968rpm...o knock...21deg...o2 .96...
3531rpm...5 knock...13deg...o2 .96...
4093rpm...5 knock...16deg...o2 .96...
4500rpm...25knock...9deg...o2 .94...
4906rpm...24knock...10deg...o2 .94...
5687rpm...24knock...14deg...o2 .92...
6343rpm...24knock...14deg...o2 .92...
6937rpm...22knock...11deg...o2 .92...
7200rpm...22knock...11deg...02 .90...

Shift to 3rd>>

5031rpm...9 knock...16deg...o2 .94...
5500rpm...18knock...16deg...o2 .92...
6062rpm...18knock...17deg...o2 .92...
6500rpm...22knock...12deg...o2 .92...
7000rpm...26knock...10deg...o2 .92...

Don't flame on me but I think the last time I might have still had a bit of 100 octane mixed in (LOL...dumb brother), which is why these logs are worse. I think I might have to turn down the boost & add a bit more past 4k cause that is a lot of knock...no?

Add more fuel before you turn the boost down. If your o2's raise but knock doesn't lower and timing doesn't increase turn the boost down to 15lbs

Im going to the track on wed., what do you think I should do before running. With the c-16, how much boost do you think I can run (big16g)? Should I adjust anything before my first run, or should I add fuel, turn up boost and log it, then adjust? Thanks guys...(john)

Come on guys Im going tomorrow, need some help before I go...
What octane is c-16 and will it affect my egt probe, or just the o2? Thanks,
Austin

C-16 is 116 octane. it will not affect your EGT probe, but will mess with your O2 sensor. Sometimes leaded fuel will kill an O2 in one tank, sometimes it takes more. Won't know until you use it. Luckliy, O2 sensors are easy to replace and under $100.

When you put in the race gas, drain your tank first or run it as dry as you can. Try to run as little a mix of pump and race gas as possible. Turn the boost up to 20-21psi and do not touch the AFC settings. Reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery for a minute. Log each pass, making adjustments as needed. I usually log O2, spark advance, knock, O2 feedback, throttle, RPM, and Karman. I also like to write down my street AFC settings so if I make changes I can change it back for pump gas. Also, I keep a log of my settings for the track so I know the temp, boost settings etc for the next time I go.

Good luck.
