Tonight some honda owner asked me if I was going to race him when he got his "Type R" head. And I said yeah, and he was saying oh and I will be running 12 sec 1/4 miles, and I asked "stock type R head on your LS block?" and he said yes.

So anyways, I guess 190hp = 12 sec 1/4 miles. I guess if he added some "Type R" stickers, and a few other stickers of mods he doesn't have, then he might hit 12 secs.

Also if 190hp = 12 secs, then our DSM's must run 12 secs stock then right?

Anyways, rant off.

What was the actual outcome, and what kind Honda did he own, there's a difference between a Civic and a Prelude LOL

He's running a Civic hatch.

How much HP does a LS block with a Type R head have?

He won't be in the 12's anyways. He thinks the stock LS engine will keep up with my car as it is. Then I seen him get on it later, it just sounded like a turd, and it looked as fast as a turd.

Depends what you do to them... My hatch was simply a gsr motor and it did 12.8's. My friends hatch has a LS block with a B16 (vtec) head and he does about 190whp

The key to the hondas' power is their weight. If anyone saw the article in SCC a while back, there were four hondas only one with forced indu (which was the slowest). But there on demand torque and lack of weight kept their times quite respectable. As for the 12 sec 'type r,'... in his dreams.

Exactly. 190 whp in a 2200 car, if not less, and take my car for example, 220 whp in a 3000 pound car.

Do the ratio of 190/2200, thus .0836, or 8.36% HP/Weight Ratio and for my car persay, 220/3000 is .0733 or 7.33%. The Honda would win, and quite easily, he's got me by one percent, and I'm a low 14 second car, thus, more than likely a high 12 or low 13 second car for the Honda. It's quite simple.

He;s not going to have 190whp though. He may have 190 flywheel hp, but thats a different story.

Its just going to be a stock LS block with a stock Type R head.

Also he has been telling people that his car will stay with mine the way it is, thats so funny. I totally proved his ass wrong today.

I was on the highway today, going to Spokane, and guess who does a ricer flyby, Mr. Type R himself. So I layed into caught up and got right on his ass. He got up to about 105mph, and wouldn't go any faster, so I stayed there messing with by letting off the gas and then laying into it again and getting right up on him ag. We then get to a car, and he passes, so I start to pass also, he goes back into our lane after then car, and I just stay on it and pass him like he was sitting still. Then I just stay on it topping out the speedo, and watching him fade away fast in the rearview. He later catches up at the next city, pulls up next to me and asked how fast we were going just before I passed him, and I said 105mph, he said that he was topped out, and we were going downhill at the time, and it took him a little while to get there. I just love making shit talkers eat there own shit.
