I have been on this forum for a couple years while I restore my Talon. Just now got around to posting my progress.

A little background on my previous DSM experience. In 1994 I bought a 1990 Talon non-turbo. I drove that for many years before letting it go. In 1996 I found a 1991 Talon AWD with only 32,000 miles on it. It became my version of a show car as I competed in sound quality stereo shows all across the country. Regretfully had to sell it to purchase a house. Fast forward to 2016 where a gentleman pushed out a 1991 Talon AWD from his business. The car looked rough but was exactly what I wanted.

To my surprise, he GAVE it to me FREE! I had it towed home where I began the long process of getting it running. Repairs started with a new slave cylinder and battery. I later found it needed a new fuel tank and fuel sending unit. Of course I replaced the fuel pump while I was dealing with the rust in the old tank.

After having replaced the clutch and lots of frustration since I took the tranny out 4 times!!!, I found the center differential had bad spider gears.

To sum up what’s has been done:
All maintenance items, timing belt included
Energy suspension bushings
New struts and Eibach springs
2 piston calipers with drilled rotors
MHI 16g big turbo with 3” exhaust
New roof, someone put in a power sunroof that was too big. Buckled the roof and looked really bad. We welded a new roof in and replaced the headliner.

Future plans include-
Logger system
Fuel management
Larger injectors
Fuel pressure regulator

My goal is to be in the 300hp range and just have a fun street car!

Nice, I the same way. I been on here for a while but don't post much. I been reading and putting my GSX together. Every time I get it running. I drive it for a few days and back up in the air for more mods.

Keep the updates on your build coming.

Welcome!!! Great work and looks super clean. Did you paint in your home garage?
I have not done any body or paint work on it yet. I buffed and polished it for now. It’s got its fair share of dents and minor scratches but is rust free. Prob paint it next year.

I did repair the cracks in the front bumper cover and rattle canned that section.
