New gsx 9sec goals

Well ive been out of dsms for some time now. I didnt want to sell my last built car but daily driven built dsm was a bad combo. So now im starting another one several years later. It feels good to be back in a 1g. Im shooting for a mid 9 second car. I wanna be able to street drive it as well. So here is what i bought i think its a great starting point. The car is gonna be 5 speed awd.

Im thinking an hx40 twin scroll build. Make around the 600awhp mark should net me mid 9s in a fully gutted car. I would like to see 2700 lbs with me in it.

I went 10.80s in a 2840 lb W/o driver auto car hx40 on 26psi. as long as you can get the 60' down you got this.

It's all about the tires and being able to launch. When I started drag racing I was in a C5 vette. Left the engine alone and just focused on the rear end. Did a set of Micky Thompson ET Drags with a new ring and pinion upgraded from 2.72 to 3.42 and weight reduction where I could. At 305whp I was taking on 600+ whp Shelby GT500's, ZL1 camaros, and a multitude of other modern muscle/import. They all learned the need for tires and not to rely on electronic launch control .

Beef up your drive train, plan your gear ratios, and get your wheels/tires in order before going engine crazy. It's more important than power in all actuality.

Well it has been a while unfortunately. Got some work done today. Just test fitting it all. Seems to fit pretty nice!!! Gonna be welding brackets on tomorrow for everything. It looks pretty aggressive i think. Cant wait to drive it.
