Look pretty nice, would be a good solution to the "drone" issue. I think I'll try one. They are on sale at the moment through jegs for $75.

New DynoMax VT™ Muffler Features Patented Valve Technology, Straight-Through Welded Stainless Steel Construction

DynoMax Performance Exhaust – a leading innovator in performance exhaust technologies – introduced the DynoMax VT™ muffler, a revolutionary, high-flow stainless steel performance muffler that controls irritating drone while ensuring maximum performance on a full-range of street applications.

DynoMax Performance Exhaust products are manufactured and marketed by Tenneco Inc. (NYSE: TEN).

The DynoMax VT muffler features an exclusive, precisely calibrated patented internal valve that ensures maximum performance and provides a drone-free experience in the vehicle.

The new DynoMax muffler's proven performance advantage can be seen in recent flow-bench testing of the DynoMax VT (No. 17956), MagnaFlow (No. 11226), and Flowmaster (No. 42541) products. The DynoMax VT muffler delivered 841 cubic-feet-perminute flow, compared to 588 CFM for the MagnaFlow and 373 CFM for the Flowmaster.1

"We're very excited for enthusiasts to hear this muffler and to see it perform. You gain not only impressive horsepower, but you get the added benefit of a patented valve technology that controls drone," said Joe Pase, director, performance brands, Tenneco.

The new muffler – engineered to deliver the DynoMax's trademark "Drone-Free Performance™" – offers the flow characteristics of the legendary DynoMax Ultra Flo® Welded muffler, through a straight-through unrestricted design that is dyno-proven to support up to 2,000 CFM and 2,000 horsepower.

"The DynoMax VT muffler provides an exciting combination of maximum flow and a deep, throaty drone-free sound. The VT valve technology lets you hammer it when you want that raw exhaust sound and cruise with it when you want more comfortable sound within the vehicle," Pase said.

The 100-percent welded stainless steel muffler is available in a side inlet/center outlet 14-in. body length and a side inlet/side outlet 16-in. body length. Inlet/outlet bushing diameters include 2 ¼-in.; 2 ½-in.; and 3-in. sizes.

The new muffler also includes slotted bushing ends; exclusive Continuous Roving Fiberglass (CRF) technology that absorbs additional unwanted interior resonance and provides a rich, deep performance tone; and a show-stopping DynoMax VT logoembossed body and high-impact finish.

The new stainless muffler is covered by a limited lifetime warranty and exclusive 90-day Performance and Sound Guarantee, an offer that lets enthusiasts try the muffler for 90 days. Consumers can return the product within 90 days for a full refund of its purchase price. Additional restrictions apply and can be found at Dynomax Performance Exhaust | Home.

DynoMax is one of North America's leading brands of dyno-proven exhaust technologies for muscle cars, diesel and gas trucks and sport utility vehicles, and sport compact/European cars.

Sounds interesting. The only hesitation I have is the use of fiberglass for the filler instead of stainless steel strands. My understanding is that fiberglass won't last nearly as long causing the sound to change over time.

Yeah could be neat. Kinda like that active apexi silencer thing. I have a dynomax ultra flo ss on my car. It doesnt drone at all.

Just curious what the diameter of the piping is in that? My Vibrant muffler drones very noticeably.

3 center in and out.

If only I didn't put a new muffler on my truck a week ago I would buy it and report... My full 3" on my car is tame compaired to my S10 that gets mind numbing. Hm...

So who has tried this muffler? I wonder how it would compare to a 30 inch long magnaflow muffler or one of those electronic valve muffers. I'm looking for the most quiet muffler out there in the market with the exception of an electronic valve muffler or cut out.

If you want quiet buy a aftermarket downpipe and run a cutout with the OEM exhaust system. Best of both worlds. The VT mufflers won't be anywhere near as quiet as OEM.

Not an option. I've never liked the cut out idea. I dumped the. oem ages ago. Besides, cutout sounds horrible when open. If that was the case, then I would just go with a varex electrical muffler which is the most quiet thing out there when it comes to exhaust.
Let's keep it dynomax vt and if someone has used it. Post results. I've heard clips of it at idle and it seems to be very quiet. It gets loud once you open the throttle. Now, there is the one for cars that are for 4.0L and under and for 4.0L and over. I'm going to guess that the difference between these might be the valve spring tensile.
So any first hand experience is much appreciated.

Thanks.
