New Big 16g problems

Ok so i just finished putting in my new turbo after blowing the old stock one. so i go to turn the car on and smoke is still coming out of the exhaust. now when i blew the old turbo it was blowing oil so there was lots of smoke coming from the back. my question is if it is normal for the car to smoke or i guess burn off the oil with a new turbo. thanks for the help

depending on how much oil is in your exhaust piping I'd say it's normal. If it's still there after a couple days of driving i'd start getting worried.

 

[Turbo Lag]

Obviously your intercooler and the intake pipes and throttle body and intake are soaked with oil. Clean those first. If it still happens then the piston rings are most likely shot. It could also be the valve guides or seals or something on the head. A friend of mine is going through the exact same problem. First he had the head rebuilt. Still smokin. Then he put a new 16g on it. Still smokin. Cleaned the entire intake system. Still smokin. Now he's having a block built. We'll see how that helps...should alleviate the problem. Also first offf, do a compression test for each cylinder. If any are low then pour a capful of oil into the cylinders. Wait a few minutes. If the compression signifiicantly rises in any of the low ones then plan on a block rebuild cause there is blow by the rings.

Thanks for the help guys, hopfully its not piston rings and its just oil still in the pipes. we'll see after a few days i guess.
