O.k. here is the situation:

I have a 90 GSX with a 92 GVR4 tranny and transfer case. The shifter/cables are out of a 92 eclipse, possibly an RS?? I run a RPS 2600 clutch with a Fidanza flywheel, extended push rod and SS line. My problems first started to occur when I got the car together a while back and the car would not go into gear right. I figured the cable needed adjusted. Adjusted them for an hour or so and seemed to have everything working o.k.

Also, the tranny shifts perfectly into gear when out of the car by pushing on the levers, no binding or anything like that.

The car has NEVER shifted smoothly into 1st, I always had to somewhat force it. And it always wanted to grind into reverse if I did not shift into 2nd then 4th then Rev. I adjusted the clutch pedal and it goes into Rev smoother now, still helps to go 2nd, 4th, etc. though. Well the main problem is this. If I push the clutch in and put it into 1st and let it out. Half the time is pops out of gear! Should I adjust the cables more, would it help to put the metal bushings in the cable ends at the tranny, or do you think there is something else wrong?????

I also think I messed up the 2nd gear Syncro the other night on a hard shift as it grinds going in to 2nd both ways at higher rpms. Shifts fine if you baby it or at lower rpms. I still have my stock 90 tranny and trans. case. I was going to send it to Shep for a full build as I would benefit from it a lot. I just need some input from you guys first. Let me know. :thumb:

Yeah, I checked my linkage today, and the shifter moves more than enough on every shift. I am thinking I have a bent shift fork for 1st and 2nd, and that the 2nd gear syncro is :notgood: .... Looks like I will have to save up a little money and have that tranny/transfer case hooked up fatty bo batty. :sneaky:
