I bought a 95 eclipse with a carbon fiber hood already on it and the passenger side of the hood sat up higher when it was closed and you could even see the filter it sat up so high. I though it was just the hood so I got a black oem eclipse hood off of a another guy and just put it on and it does the same thing. I thought all 95-99 hoods were the same. Can anyone help with this and how do I fix it? Here are some pics

Where you in a wreck? It looks like the frame is bent. You can square up the fenders. You can adjust the bumper stops on the front of the core suport. I think the frame is bent .Look at the bumper , is it off also? If all of above I would take it to a body shop and have them check it out

It was not in a wreck that I know of and if I adjust the front bumper stop wont that just raise the other side? And the front bumper is a crapy blitz bumper that I want to get rid of so I can put a oem one on.

Do you think if I put hood pins in at the far left and right side front of the hood that it would keep that side down and stop it from popping up?

Regardless, you should always use hood pins with carbon fiber hoods. I would take a trip to a body shop and see what they say.

I had the same problem with that exact side, but it wasnt that extreme. But it was because the bolts in the hinge by the windshield were loose... so to fix it I unbolted all 4 so the hood would swivel, and closed it and alligned it...Then after getting everything perfect, I popped it and had someone hold the front while i held the back so it wouldnt move.. Tightened the bolts back up and done.

When you go to close the hood does it bind in that corner? If its binding than there something that wont let it close. Had a similiar problem and it ended up being that the hood subframe was rubbing on the back portion of the strut tower. Get youself some bubble tape and cover the left side. Close the hood, press firmly along the passenger side and listen for pops. Wherever the bubbles have popped, you have something holding the hood back.

I would assume this is something similiar to your case. It loks like your left side is closing, but in the process something from the passenger side is making the hood twist.

Yeah its weird and I have the stock hood on now not the cf one. Also the hood on both side in the back where the hinges are close and a flush fine and there is no binding but as soon as I close it that left front side will not go dont and I cant see a reason that is preventing that

Hood hood pins on the stock hood where the side is popping up help the hood from doing that?
