Need Definitive & Informed Answer to Spark Plug Heat Ranges

I've heard so many different opinions on the age old question of when to use colder plugs. Does anyone have any cold hard facts on this one (or know where to get 'em)? My 2G comes stock w/6's & that's what I use. I've recently upgraded to a big 16G & the large Walboro. I'm running 19psi on stock injectors, 93 octane & no engine/fuel management (DSM Link coming soon!). Everything seems ok, fuel cut sometimes when cold or when I 1st take out the headlight at the track. Otherwise all seems fine. Will I benefit by using 7's for this set-up or is the benefit in sticking w/6's for now?
 
I'd say go with the BPR7ES's... I just went to Napa and they had some in stock. Just tell them that number and they'll look it up. Don't ask to look it up through Year > Mitsu > Model and all that... just ask them if they have any NGK BPR7ES's in stock. If they don't, they can have them delivered in the next day or so. Or you can order some from www.jnztuning.com ...I bought some gaskets from them and received them within 2 business days on their standard shipping. Pretty good from Pennsylvania to here in New Mexico if you ask me :thumb:
 
You basically want to run the coldest plug you can without fouling and misfiring. And you should not be running 19 psi on stock injectors and no tuning, that's just stupid.
 
I run BPR7ES's on my basically stock GVR4. I have the boost up a little bit but other than that nothing done to it. Like GVR4592 said, run the coldest plug possible (which in this case would be the 7), it will help against preignition.
 
I'd take a P first.. that is out of the plug part number..

Shrouding the spark kernel prevents it from "blowing out the candle" at high boost levels.

I run BR8ES plugs.
